Job Title: Sheet Metal Worker
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Sheet Metal Worker to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing the fabrication, installation, and repair of sheet metal products. As a senior technician, you will utilize advanced sheet metalworking techniques, ensure quality control, and supervise junior team members. You will be responsible for ensuring that all projects are completed to high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. This position offers an opportunity to mentor a team of technicians while being involved in complex and specialized sheet metal work.
Key Responsibilities:
Sheet Metal Fabrication and Installation:
- Lead the fabrication, shaping, and installation of sheet metal products, including ducts, panels, piping, and custom parts for various industrial applications.
- Use advanced tools such as shears, presses, brake machines, welding equipment, and laser cutters to create precise components based on drawings and blueprints.
- Ensure that all metal components are cut, bent, and welded according to project specifications and safety standards.
Supervision and Mentorship:
- Supervise a team of junior and mid-level sheet metal workers, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure that work is completed efficiently and to the highest standards.
- Mentor team members on proper techniques, tool usage, safety procedures, and troubleshooting, helping to foster a skilled and productive team.
- Assign tasks, monitor progress, and provide feedback on performance, ensuring that project deadlines are met.
Quality Control and Inspection:
- Oversee the quality control of sheet metal products, ensuring they meet project specifications and industry standards.
- Perform inspections of finished work, checking for accuracy, durability, and proper functionality.
- Implement measures to improve the quality of finished products and reduce waste or errors during fabrication.
Troubleshooting and Problem Solving:
- Take a leadership role in diagnosing and troubleshooting issues with sheet metal components and systems, ensuring quick and effective solutions.
- Provide expertise in identifying defects or issues during fabrication and offering practical solutions to maintain project timelines.
- Work with other departments, such as engineering and project management, to ensure all technical problems are resolved in a timely manner.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations, environmental policies, and company standards.
- Lead by example in adhering to safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices.
- Conduct safety audits, provide training, and ensure the team maintains a clean and safe work environment.
Tool and Equipment Maintenance:
- Maintain and repair sheet metalworking tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition and ready for use.
- Work with management to order parts, tools, or machinery needed for sheet metal tasks and ensure that tools are calibrated and functioning properly.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Document fabrication processes, repairs, and installations to maintain accurate records.
- Prepare reports on project status, time and material costs, and any challenges faced during fabrication or installation.
- Provide feedback to the production or operations manager regarding equipment, material usage, and team performance.
Project Management and Coordination:
- Oversee the execution of sheet metal projects, ensuring tasks are completed within budget and according to schedules.
- Coordinate with other departments and external contractors to ensure that installations are carried out smoothly and meet all requirements.
- Help with estimating material and labor costs for projects and work with management to ensure the efficient use of resources.

- Provide leadership in solving complex technical challenges related to sheet metal work, ensuring that all projects are completed on time and without issues.
Qualifications and Skills:
Educational Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in sheet metal, mechanical engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Additional certifications in welding, fabrication, or HVAC systems are a plus.
Experience:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in sheet metal fabrication, installation, and maintenance, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Experience working with a variety of sheet metal tools and equipment, including welders, shears, and CNC machines.
- In-depth knowledge of industry standards, materials, and techniques used in sheet metal fabrication.
Skills:

Certifications (Preferred):
