Job Title: Sheet Metal Worker 

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated Sheet Metal Worker – Fresher to join our manufacturing team. As a fresher in this role, you will assist senior sheet metal workers in the fabrication, installation, and repair of sheet metal products. You will gain hands-on experience in cutting, shaping, and assembling metal components, using a variety of tools and techniques. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assisting in Fabrication and Assembly:

    • Assist in cutting, bending, and shaping sheet metal to form components used in industrial applications, construction, HVAC systems, and other projects.
    • Help assemble and fit metal parts together using various tools and equipment such as hand tools, power tools, welding machines, and soldering equipment.
    • Follow design specifications and blueprints to produce high-quality metal products.
  2. Tool and Equipment Handling:

    • Learn to use various metalworking tools and equipment under the guidance of senior workers, including shears, presses, brakes, and welding machines.
    • Assist in maintaining tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.
    • Observe and follow safety procedures when using tools and equipment.
  3. Measurement and Inspection:

    • Assist in measuring and marking metal sheets for cutting and assembly, ensuring the dimensions match the specifications.
    • Learn to inspect finished products for quality and ensure that they meet project specifications and industry standards.
    • Help make adjustments to ensure proper fit and finish before final assembly.
  4. Maintenance and Repairs:

    • Assist in repairing and maintaining metal products and structures by identifying faults, preparing damaged areas, and replacing parts as required.
    • Help with the installation of metal parts in various systems or structures, such as ducts, gutters, and metal roofing.
  5. Safety and Compliance:

    • Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when performing tasks.
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment, adhering to company safety standards and guidelines.
    • Assist in identifying potential hazards in the workspace and follow corrective actions to minimize risks.
  6. Learning and Development:

    • Participate in on-the-job training programs and learning opportunities to enhance technical skills and understanding of sheet metal work.
    • Observe and learn from senior workers and supervisors, gaining hands-on experience in fabrication, assembly, and installation techniques.
    • Develop proficiency in reading blueprints and understanding complex designs and measurements.

  1. Sheet Metal Fabrication and Assembly:

    • Assist with the cutting, shaping, and assembly of sheet metal components, learning the key skills required in the trade.
  2. Tool and Equipment Use:

    • Learn to handle and maintain the tools and equipment used in sheet metal work, ensuring safety and proper functioning.
  3. Safety and Quality Control:

    • Follow all safety protocols to ensure a safe work environment while learning quality control practices to ensure the metal products meet industry standards.
  4. Learning and Skill Development:

    • Focus on developing technical skills and gaining hands-on experience, learning the key responsibilities of a skilled sheet metal worker.

Qualifications and Skills:

  1. Educational Requirements:

    • High school diploma or equivalent; technical courses or certifications in sheet metal work, manufacturing, or related fields are a plus but not required.
  2. Experience:

    • 0-1 years prior experience required; this is an entry-level role designed for fresh graduates or individuals looking to start a career in sheet metal work.
    • Any internships, workshops, or projects related to metalworking, fabrication, or mechanical work are beneficial.
  3. Skills:

    • Basic understanding of metalworking and mechanical systems.
    • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
    • Willingness to learn, with a strong interest in developing technical skills.
    • Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively.
    • A safety-conscious attitude with the ability to follow safety procedures.
  4. Certifications (Preferred):

    • Any certifications related to welding, metalworking, or manufacturing are a plus (e.g., OSHA safety training, welding certifications).
