We are seeking a skilled Mid-Level Sheet Metal Specialist to support the fabrication, assembly, and installation of HVAC ducting systems and aircraft skin structures. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with sheet metal operations, the ability to interpret technical drawings, and is familiar with aerospace or HVAC fabrication standards. This role bridges hands-on execution with responsibility for quality and production efficiency.
Sheet Metal Fabrication:
Cut, bend, form, and assemble sheet metal components for HVAC ducting and aircraft skins according to precise engineering specifications.
Installation & Assembly:
Perform high-precision assembly and fitting tasks, ensuring proper alignment, secure fastening, and sealing for ducting and aircraft panels.
Blueprint Interpretation:
Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to accurately fabricate and install components.
Tool & Machine Operation:
Operate hand tools and fabrication machinery such as press brakes, rollers, riveters, shears, and drills efficiently and safely.
Inspection & Quality Control:
Perform in-process and final inspections to verify part accuracy, dimensional compliance, and surface finish quality.
Safety & Compliance:
Adhere to safety standards, material handling protocols, and quality assurance processes in both HVAC and aerospace environments.
Fabricate and assemble sheet metal ducting and skin components using various hand tools and machinery.
Interpret blueprints and work orders to execute accurate measurements and fabrication steps.
Conduct basic troubleshooting and perform minor repairs or modifications as needed.
Support production teams with installation tasks and alignment of structural panels or ducting segments.
Participate in improvement initiatives for fabrication techniques and work center efficiency.
Maintain records of work completed and report any issues to supervisors.
Technical diploma or certificate in Sheet Metal Fabrication, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
3–5 years of experience in sheet metal fabrication, preferably in HVAC systems and/or aerospace structures.
Strong understanding of sheet metal materials (aluminum, stainless steel, titanium) and fabrication methods.
Proficiency with fabrication equipment and hand tools.
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical documentation.
Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., ASME, AS9100, SMACNA, or NADCAP) is a plus.
Strong attention to detail, teamwork, and communication skills.
Physically capable of lifting, bending, and working in confined spaces or elevated positions when required.
