The Senior Service & Repair Supervisor – HVAC Systems leads a high-performing team of HVAC technicians and field engineers responsible for complex diagnostics, repair, retrofit, and preventive maintenance services. This leadership role focuses on ensuring technical excellence, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction across all service activities. The senior supervisor also plays a strategic role in service planning, team development, and coordination with engineering, quality, and client support functions.
Direct and supervise service teams handling advanced HVAC troubleshooting, component replacement, and complex repairs (e.g., chillers, VRF, rooftop units, BMS-integrated systems).
Act as the technical escalation point for major service calls, warranty claims, or critical system outages.
Lead root cause analysis for recurring failures and implement permanent corrective actions.
Hire, train, and develop a team of service technicians, ensuring upskilling in the latest HVAC technologies, refrigerants, and controls.
Conduct regular performance evaluations, ride-alongs, and technical coaching.
Establish and track service KPIs: first-time fix rate, mean time to repair, customer satisfaction score (CSAT), etc.
Serve as a senior point of contact for key accounts and high-priority service engagements.
Lead customer debriefings on complex service calls and long-term repair strategies.
Support service contract renewals, upsell opportunities, and long-term client engagement.
Ensure full compliance with EPA, OSHA, ASHRAE, and local regulatory standards across all service activities.
Enforce advanced safety practices including lockout/tagout, confined space entry, and refrigerant recovery.
Lead or support audits, safety walkthroughs, and technician certification compliance tracking.
Optimize service operations by implementing route efficiency models, inventory control, and parts availability.
Collaborate with product engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance on field feedback and product reliability improvements.
Lead service operations reviews, contribute to budgeting, and recommend improvements to tools, equipment, and software platforms.

Associate or Bachelor’s degree in HVAC Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent field (required)
EPA Universal Certification (required)
Additional certifications such as NATE, OSHA 30, or manufacturer-specific training (preferred)
8–12+ years in HVAC service, repair, or maintenance operations
3–5 years in a supervisory or senior technical leadership role
Proven experience with a broad range of HVAC systems including high-efficiency, large-tonnage, or digitally controlled units
Expert-level knowledge of HVAC diagnostics, system integration, and control systems
Strong leadership, mentoring, and team-building abilities
Customer-centric mindset with conflict resolution and negotiation skills
Proficiency in field service software, inventory systems, and reporting tools
Strategic thinking and ability to support cross-functional initiatives
