The Service & Repair Supervisor – HVAC Systems (Mid-Level) is responsible for leading a team of HVAC service technicians in the maintenance, repair, and servicing of residential, commercial, or industrial HVAC systems. This role oversees daily field operations, ensures high-quality service delivery, maintains safety compliance, and enhances customer satisfaction. The supervisor is also involved in technical support, performance monitoring, scheduling, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Supervise HVAC technicians performing service, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs.
Coordinate daily assignments, ensure route efficiency, and manage job prioritization.
Conduct spot-checks and quality inspections of completed service jobs.
Provide guidance on complex service issues, system diagnostics, and equipment repairs.
Serve as the technical escalation point for field teams.
Ensure proper use of tools, instruments, and service procedures.
Communicate with customers regarding service expectations, schedules, and follow-up requirements.
Address escalated customer complaints and resolve service-related issues professionally.
Promote preventive maintenance programs and service agreements.
Enforce EPA, OSHA, and local HVAC code compliance during all service operations.
Ensure adherence to refrigerant handling procedures and equipment safety standards.
Lead toolbox talks and technician safety training.
Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and technician performance logs.
Track key KPIs: response time, first-time fix rate, customer satisfaction scores, etc.
Identify trends and suggest process improvements to optimize service quality and efficiency.

Associate or Bachelor’s degree in HVAC Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred
EPA Section 608 Certification required
4–7 years of experience in HVAC service and repair
Minimum 2 years in a supervisory or lead technician role
Experience working with a wide range of HVAC systems (split, RTUs, chillers, VRF, etc.)
Proficient in diagnostics, controls, refrigerants, and mechanical systems
Strong leadership and team coordination abilities
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Solid understanding of safety, code compliance, and industry best practices
Experience with service management software (e.g., ServiceTitan, FieldEdge) is a plus
