Job Title: Service & Repair Supervisor – HVAC Systems 

Summary:

The Service & Repair Supervisor – HVAC Systems (Mid-Level) is responsible for leading a team of HVAC service technicians in the maintenance, repair, and servicing of residential, commercial, or industrial HVAC systems. This role oversees daily field operations, ensures high-quality service delivery, maintains safety compliance, and enhances customer satisfaction. The supervisor is also involved in technical support, performance monitoring, scheduling, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Field Operations Management

  • Supervise HVAC technicians performing service, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs.

  • Coordinate daily assignments, ensure route efficiency, and manage job prioritization.

  • Conduct spot-checks and quality inspections of completed service jobs.

Technical Oversight & Support

  • Provide guidance on complex service issues, system diagnostics, and equipment repairs.

  • Serve as the technical escalation point for field teams.

  • Ensure proper use of tools, instruments, and service procedures.

Customer Service & Communication

  • Communicate with customers regarding service expectations, schedules, and follow-up requirements.

  • Address escalated customer complaints and resolve service-related issues professionally.

  • Promote preventive maintenance programs and service agreements.

Compliance, Safety & Standards

  • Enforce EPA, OSHA, and local HVAC code compliance during all service operations.

  • Ensure adherence to refrigerant handling procedures and equipment safety standards.

  • Lead toolbox talks and technician safety training.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and technician performance logs.

  • Track key KPIs: response time, first-time fix rate, customer satisfaction scores, etc.

  • Identify trends and suggest process improvements to optimize service quality and efficiency.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in HVAC Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred

  • EPA Section 608 Certification required

Experience:

  • 4–7 years of experience in HVAC service and repair

  • Minimum 2 years in a supervisory or lead technician role

  • Experience working with a wide range of HVAC systems (split, RTUs, chillers, VRF, etc.)

Skills & Competencies:

  • Proficient in diagnostics, controls, refrigerants, and mechanical systems

  • Strong leadership and team coordination abilities

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills

  • Solid understanding of safety, code compliance, and industry best practices

  • Experience with service management software (e.g., ServiceTitan, FieldEdge) is a plus
