We are seeking a highly experienced and technically authoritative Senior HVAC Engineer to lead the design, optimization, and maintenance of HVAC systems supporting critical operations in a power plant environment. This role requires deep technical expertise in thermal systems, industrial cooling, ventilation, and regulatory compliance, along with proven leadership in cross-disciplinary engineering and project execution.
Strategic HVAC System Management
Lead the engineering, operation, and lifecycle management of HVAC systems across all plant facilities including turbine buildings, control rooms, switchgear rooms, and auxiliary systems.
Develop and implement HVAC design strategies that support reliability, energy efficiency, and compliance with environmental and safety standards.
Define system performance KPIs and oversee the development of monitoring plans to ensure optimal operation.
Design, Engineering & Project Oversight
Review and approve detailed engineering designs for new HVAC systems, retrofits, and expansions.
Perform advanced thermal load calculations, ventilation modeling, and duct/pipe system design.
Oversee technical specifications, vendor selections, and quality control during construction and commissioning phases.
Troubleshooting & Advanced Diagnostics
Lead root cause analysis for HVAC system failures, performance degradation, or environmental non-conformance.
Supervise predictive maintenance and vibration analysis of critical rotating HVAC equipment.
Provide high-level guidance on resolving complex field issues and upgrading legacy systems.
Energy Optimization & Efficiency
Drive HVAC energy conservation measures including implementation of VFDs, economizers, heat recovery, and demand-based ventilation.
Collaborate with energy managers and controls teams to integrate HVAC operation with broader plant energy management systems (EMS/BMS/SCADA).
Evaluate performance trends and lead system retro-commissioning or fine-tuning initiatives.
Compliance, Standards & Documentation
Ensure full compliance with ASHRAE, SMACNA, ISO 50001, OSHA, and local environmental regulations.
Lead development and maintenance of documentation such as SOPs, P&IDs, HVAC design manuals, and MOC records.
Prepare for internal and third-party audits regarding safety, emissions, and energy use.
Mentorship & Leadership
Lead and mentor HVAC engineers and technicians, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, electrical, I&C, and operations personnel to align HVAC systems with plant-wide goals.
Serve as the technical authority on HVAC matters during design reviews, shutdown planning, and emergency response scenarios.
Lead HVAC system design and engineering strategy
Oversee troubleshooting and system performance optimization
Drive HVAC-related energy conservation and compliance initiatives
Guide and mentor junior engineers and cross-functional teams
Ensure long-term reliability and safety of critical cooling and ventilation infrastructure
