We are looking for a skilled Mid-Level HVAC Designer to lead mechanical drafting and modeling efforts for HVAC systems using AutoCAD MEP, Revit, and BIM coordination tools. You will play a key role in preparing detailed construction drawings, developing coordinated models, and supporting engineers through design development and construction documentation phases. The ideal candidate brings solid HVAC drafting experience, strong attention to technical accuracy, and a proactive approach to interdisciplinary collaboration.
Prepare detailed HVAC drawings including duct layouts, piping, equipment placement, and mechanical room configurations.
Convert design concepts and engineering sketches into coordinated construction documents.
Interpret HVAC loads, zoning plans, equipment schedules, and mechanical specifications for accurate modeling.
Develop and manage HVAC models in Revit MEP, ensuring alignment with architectural and structural models.
Participate in clash detection using Navisworks or BIM 360, and resolve conflicts through coordination meetings.
Maintain and apply company and project-specific CAD/BIM standards and templates.
Interface with engineers to verify system performance assumptions, spatial requirements, and installation constraints.
Support site-specific design considerations such as ceiling coordination, shaft planning, and equipment access.
Assist in developing as-built models and record drawings based on field markups or redlines.
Help plan drafting workload and manage drawing deadlines across multiple projects.
Provide support in preparing duct/piping quantity takeoffs, layout maps, and drawing packages for clients or contractors.
