We are seeking a Junior HVAC Designer to assist in the drafting and layout of mechanical systems using CAD and BIM tools such as AutoCAD MEP and Revit. This entry-level role is ideal for candidates with a strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and a desire to grow in the field of HVAC design. Under the guidance of senior engineers and designers, you will contribute to creating accurate, coordinated HVAC drawings for commercial, industrial, or residential building projects.
Prepare HVAC system layouts, ductwork routing, piping, and mechanical room arrangements using AutoCAD MEP and Revit.
Assist in creating mechanical plans, sections, and details for permit and construction documents.
Annotate and dimension drawings based on engineering markups and redlines.
Support model development in Revit for coordination with architectural, electrical, plumbing, and structural disciplines.
Assist in clash detection processes and update models based on coordination feedback.
Help maintain drawing standards and adhere to project-specific CAD/BIM protocols.
Interpret HVAC design concepts, equipment schedules, and specifications to develop accurate system layouts.
Support the preparation of equipment tag lists, duct/piping takeoffs, and material quantities.
Work closely with senior HVAC designers and mechanical engineers.
Participate in internal reviews and training sessions to improve BIM proficiency and HVAC system understanding.
Maintain organized file management and version control of all design documents.
2D/3D HVAC drafting and modeling
AutoCAD MEP and Revit drawing production
Cross-discipline model coordination support
Ongoing learning of HVAC systems and BIM workflows
Diploma or Associate Degree in Mechanical Design, Drafting, Building Systems, or related technical field
AutoCAD MEP and/or Revit MEP training certification
Familiarity with BIM 360, Navisworks, or similar platforms is a plus
0–2 years of experience in HVAC drafting or design using CAD/BIM tools
Internship or project experience in building mechanical systems preferred
Basic knowledge of HVAC system components (ducts, diffusers, fans, chillers, AHUs, etc.)
Proficiency in AutoCAD MEP and introductory-level Revit MEP modeling
Ability to read mechanical plans, sections, and schematics
High attention to detail and organized drafting habits
Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced design environment
Strong communication and collaboration skills
