The Senior Control Systems Engineer is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and lifecycle management of advanced control and automation systems across industrial and infrastructure projects. This role requires expertise in control philosophy, PLC/DCS programming, SCADA integration, and process optimization. The engineer serves as a technical lead, mentor, and project integrator, ensuring control systems meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards.
Control System Architecture – Design and develop end-to-end control system architectures including PLCs, DCS, HMI, and SCADA.
Programming & Configuration – Develop logic, interlocks, and automation scripts in platforms like Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Honeywell, ABB, or Emerson.
Project & Team Leadership – Lead multidisciplinary automation teams across all project phases including design, testing, commissioning, and support.
System Integration & Optimization – Ensure seamless integration of field instrumentation, control systems, and enterprise-level platforms (e.g., MES, historian).
Compliance & Safety – Ensure control systems comply with standards such as IEC 61131, ISA-88/95, SIL (Safety Integrity Level), and cybersecurity guidelines.
Develop control philosophies, logic diagrams, and I/O specifications for new and existing systems.
Lead the design and implementation of automation systems in DCS/PLC/SCADA environments.
Oversee FAT (Factory Acceptance Test), SAT (Site Acceptance Test), and full commissioning activities.
Interface with process engineers, electrical teams, and instrumentation specialists to ensure accurate integration and performance.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex control system issues affecting production, safety, or efficiency.
Prepare and maintain technical documentation including drawings, manuals, and validation reports.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to developing engineering standards and best practices.
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Control Systems, Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering.
10–15 years of experience in control systems engineering, including multiple successful project implementations.
Advanced proficiency in at least one major automation platform (e.g., Siemens PCS7, ABB 800xA, Emerson DeltaV, Rockwell Automation).
Experience in regulated or safety-critical environments (e.g., process plants, energy, pharma, defense) is a plus.
Strong leadership and technical decision-making skills.
Deep understanding of industrial control theory, process automation, and system safety.
Excellent communication and cross-functional coordination.
High attention to detail with strong documentation and troubleshooting abilities.
Familiarity with cybersecurity standards for control systems (e.g., ISA/IEC 62443).
