The Junior Control Systems Engineer supports the development, testing, and maintenance of automation and control systems. This entry-level role involves assisting in PLC/DCS configuration, HMI development, and documentation tasks under the guidance of senior engineers, providing a foundation for growth in industrial control system engineering.
Control Logic Assistance – Support PLC/DCS logic development and modifications based on control narratives and functional requirements.
HMI/SCADA Support – Help develop operator interface screens and basic alarm configurations.
Field Integration Tasks – Assist with I/O mapping, signal checks, and loop verifications for sensors and actuators.
Documentation & Drawings – Maintain and update engineering drawings, I/O lists, and control panel layouts.
Testing & Commissioning Support – Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and field commissioning activities.
Assist with control logic programming using platforms like Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or Schneider.
Help with HMI configuration and graphic creation using SCADA software.
Support loop checks, signal testing, and control cabinet inspections during commissioning.
Maintain control system backups, update records, and track changes.
Follow site safety protocols and support field engineers during installation and testing.
Learn industry standards and best practices related to control systems and automation.
Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Control Systems, Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering.
0–2 years of experience or internship in automation or industrial control systems.
Basic knowledge of PLCs, SCADA/HMI software, and control system architecture.
Familiarity with electrical drawings, loop diagrams, and industrial instrumentation is a plus.
Strong willingness to learn automation tools and technologies.
Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Good communication and ability to follow engineering instructions.
Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in documentation.
