Job Summary:

The SCADA and RTU Field Technician Supervisor is responsible for overseeing a team of field technicians engaged in the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of SCADA and RTU systems. This role ensures that field operations align with project schedules, safety standards, and technical requirements. The supervisor serves as the main liaison between engineering teams, clients, and field personnel to ensure smooth and reliable control system operations across multiple sites.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise field activities for the installation and maintenance of SCADA and RTU systems.

  • Review and validate field installation drawings, IO lists, communication layouts, and equipment specifications.

  • Assign tasks, manage work schedules, and monitor performance of field technicians.

  • Conduct field inspections, quality checks, and final acceptance tests for SCADA/RTU installations.

  • Troubleshoot complex field issues involving RTUs, communication failures, or system malfunctions.

  • Interface with engineering, control room, and IT teams to resolve field issues and implement system upgrades.

  • Ensure all activities comply with HSE policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Provide training and mentorship to junior staff and technicians on SCADA/RTU best practices.

  • Maintain records of work performed, material used, and submit technical reports and updates.

  • Assist in project planning, material requisition, and coordination with vendors and subcontractors.


Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Diploma or Degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics, or related engineering field.

  • 7+ years of experience with SCADA and RTU systems, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or team lead capacity.

  • Strong understanding of communication protocols (Modbus, DNP3, TCP/IP), telemetry systems, and field instrumentation.

  • Proven experience in managing teams in field environments, preferably in utility or industrial projects.

  • Familiarity with control system architecture, P&IDs, loop diagrams, and electrical schematics.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and coordination skills.

  • Ability to travel to project and remote sites across regions.

  • UAE driving license preferred.
