System Monitoring and Troubleshooting:

  • Monitor SCADA system performance, identify anomalies, and resolve basic technical issues.
  • Assist in diagnosing and troubleshooting SCADA-related problems, escalating complex issues to senior engineers.
  • Ensure accurate data acquisition and system reliability through routine testing and calibration.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Follow organizational safety protocols and industry regulations during all SCADA-related activities.
  • Validate and maintain SCADA systems connected to safety-critical equipment such as emergency shutdown mechanisms.
  • Participate in safety risk assessments and contribute to hazard identification and mitigation measures.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain detailed records of SCADA configurations, maintenance activities, and troubleshooting efforts.
  • Prepare basic technical reports on system performance and recommend improvements for optimization.
  • Update and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to SCADA operations.

Collaboration and Development:

  • Work closely with operations, maintenance, and safety teams to align SCADA activities with plant objectives.
  • Assist in commissioning and upgrading SCADA systems under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Participate in training programs to deepen knowledge of SCADA technologies and power plant processes.

Key Focus Areas:

  • SCADA Systems: Configure, monitor, and maintain SCADA platforms for reliable operation.
  • Power Plant Processes: Support automation tasks for turbines, generators, boilers, and auxiliary systems.
  • System Integration: Contribute to the integration of SCADA with DCS and PLC systems.
  • Safety and Emergency Systems: Validate and troubleshoot safety-critical SCADA systems to ensure compliance.

Skills and Knowledge Required:

  • Proficient understanding of SCADA systems and their application in power plant operations.
  • Basic programming skills in SCADA platforms, including graphical interface design and alarm configuration.
  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, Profibus, and Ethernet/IP.
  • Analytical and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve system issues effectively.
  • Awareness of safety standards and best practices for automation in industrial environments.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Certifications or training in SCADA systems (e.g., Siemens, Wonderware, ABB) are highly desirable.

Experience:

  • 1-2 years of experience in SCADA system configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Hands-on experience with SCADA platforms and basic integration with DCS and PLC systems is preferred.

Tools and Technologies:

  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools such as multimeters and loop calibrators.
  • Familiarity with SCADA software platforms like Siemens WinCC, Wonderware InTouch, or Honeywell Experion.
