The Mid-Level Rotating Equipment Buyer is responsible for the procurement of gas and steam turbine systems, ancillary rotating equipment (e.g., lube oil skids, couplings, gearboxes), and spare parts. This role manages supplier relationships, oversees the end-to-end purchasing process, and ensures equipment is delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with technical specifications and project timelines.
Execute and manage RFQs, purchase orders, and contracts for turbine components and rotating equipment.
Ensure commercial terms, delivery conditions, and warranty clauses meet company and project requirements.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with OEMs, approved vendors, and third-party suppliers.
Monitor supplier performance in terms of cost, quality, responsiveness, and on-time delivery.
Collaborate with engineering and technical teams to understand equipment specifications and ensure sourcing aligns with technical requirements.
Participate in bid evaluations and contract award justifications, considering lifecycle cost, lead time, and serviceability.
Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to track order status, ensure timely delivery, and resolve delays or discrepancies.
Support freight and customs documentation for international shipments.
Identify cost-saving opportunities through competitive bidding, supplier negotiations, and volume agreements.
Track market trends in turbine parts and services to support budgeting and price benchmarking.
Ensure complete and accurate procurement documentation, including supplier certifications, compliance with QA/QC protocols, and contract records.
Follow internal procurement procedures and support audit readiness.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or Business with technical experience
Experience: 3–7 years in industrial procurement, with at least 2 years specifically handling rotating equipment or turbine components
Skills:
Strong understanding of turbomachinery (compressors, turbines, auxiliaries)
Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and procurement workflows
Effective negotiation and supplier management skills
Ability to interpret technical documents and work with engineering teams
