The General Manager – Retail Supply Chain is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the end-to-end supply chain operations, ensuring seamless coordination between procurement, warehousing, logistics, and retail distribution. This role involves strategic planning, performance management, and operational efficiency to drive cost-effective and customer-centric supply chain solutions. Develop and implement comprehensive supply chain strategies to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service levels.
Oversee demand planning, inventory forecasting, and distribution strategies to ensure product availability across retail locations.
Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance supply chain performance.
Monitor industry trends, competitor strategies, and emerging technologies to maintain a competitive advantage.
Ensure optimal inventory levels by balancing supply and demand across multiple retail channels.
Oversee warehouse and distribution operations, ensuring timely order fulfillment and minimal waste.
Manage logistics partners and transportation networks to streamline supply chain flow.
Implement data-driven strategies to enhance last-mile delivery efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and logistics service providers.
Negotiate contracts and service agreements to achieve cost savings and improved reliability.
Ensure supplier compliance with quality standards, delivery timelines, and performance benchmarks.
Diversify the supplier base to mitigate risks and enhance procurement resilience.
Set and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for supply chain operations, including cost reduction, lead times, and order accuracy.
Develop and manage the supply chain budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and profitability.
Drive cost-saving initiatives while maintaining operational excellence and product availability.
Collaborate with finance teams to ensure accurate forecasting, reporting, and financial planning.
Work closely with sales, marketing, and operations teams to align supply chain strategies with business objectives.
Lead and mentor supply chain teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
Ensure compliance with local and international supply chain regulations, sustainability practices, and ethical sourcing policies.
Champion digital transformation in supply chain management, adopting AI-driven forecasting, blockchain tracking, and cloud-based inventory systems.
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (MBA preferred).
8+ years of experience in supply chain management, logistics, or retail operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Proven track record in optimizing retail supply chains and driving operational efficiency.
Strong understanding of supply chain technology, ERP systems, and data analytics.
Excellent leadership, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Experience with global supply chain operations, supplier negotiations, and inventory planning.
Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
