Job Title: General Manager – Retail Supply Chain
Job Type: Full-Time

Job Summary:

The General Manager – Retail Supply Chain is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the end-to-end supply chain operations, ensuring seamless coordination between procurement, warehousing, logistics, and retail distribution. This role involves strategic planning, performance management, and operational efficiency to drive cost-effective and customer-centric supply chain solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in retail supply chain management, strong leadership skills, and a data-driven approach to enhancing operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Supply Chain Management

  • Develop and implement comprehensive supply chain strategies to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service levels.

  • Oversee demand planning, inventory forecasting, and distribution strategies to ensure product availability across retail locations.

  • Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance supply chain performance.

  • Monitor industry trends, competitor strategies, and emerging technologies to maintain a competitive advantage.

Inventory & Logistics Oversight

  • Ensure optimal inventory levels by balancing supply and demand across multiple retail channels.

  • Oversee warehouse and distribution operations, ensuring timely order fulfillment and minimal waste.

  • Manage logistics partners and transportation networks to streamline supply chain flow.

  • Implement data-driven strategies to enhance last-mile delivery efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Vendor & Supplier Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and logistics service providers.

  • Negotiate contracts and service agreements to achieve cost savings and improved reliability.

  • Ensure supplier compliance with quality standards, delivery timelines, and performance benchmarks.

  • Diversify the supplier base to mitigate risks and enhance procurement resilience.

Financial & Performance Management

  • Set and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for supply chain operations, including cost reduction, lead times, and order accuracy.

  • Develop and manage the supply chain budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and profitability.

  • Drive cost-saving initiatives while maintaining operational excellence and product availability.

  • Collaborate with finance teams to ensure accurate forecasting, reporting, and financial planning.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Organizational Development

  • Work closely with sales, marketing, and operations teams to align supply chain strategies with business objectives.

  • Lead and mentor supply chain teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

  • Ensure compliance with local and international supply chain regulations, sustainability practices, and ethical sourcing policies.

  • Champion digital transformation in supply chain management, adopting AI-driven forecasting, blockchain tracking, and cloud-based inventory systems.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (MBA preferred).

  • 8+ years of experience in supply chain management, logistics, or retail operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.

  • Proven track record in optimizing retail supply chains and driving operational efficiency.

  • Strong understanding of supply chain technology, ERP systems, and data analytics.

  • Excellent leadership, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience with global supply chain operations, supplier negotiations, and inventory planning.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
