The Director of Retail Supply Chain is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the entire supply chain strategy, ensuring operational excellence, cost efficiency, and seamless product availability across all retail channels. This role involves leading large-scale supply chain initiatives, optimizing logistics networks, enhancing inventory management, and driving strategic supplier partnerships. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in retail supply chain management, data-driven decision-making, and global supply chain operations.
Develop and implement a comprehensive supply chain strategy aligned with business objectives.
Oversee end-to-end supply chain functions, including procurement, inventory management, distribution, and logistics.
Drive digital transformation and automation initiatives to enhance supply chain efficiency.
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and optimize supply chain effectiveness.
Ensure optimal inventory levels across retail stores, warehouses, and distribution centers.
Develop and implement demand planning and forecasting models to minimize stock imbalances.
Streamline logistics operations to reduce lead times and transportation costs.
Implement technology-driven solutions such as AI and predictive analytics for supply chain optimization.
Build and manage strategic partnerships with global and local suppliers.
Negotiate high-value contracts to secure favorable pricing and service agreements.
Ensure supplier compliance with quality standards, sustainability policies, and corporate guidelines.
Develop risk mitigation strategies to address supply chain disruptions and geopolitical challenges.
Work closely with executive leadership, finance, sales, and marketing teams to align supply chain goals with overall business objectives.
Provide leadership and mentorship to supply chain managers and operational teams.
Support retail expansion strategies by ensuring supply chain scalability for new markets.
Lead sustainability initiatives to reduce the environmental impact of supply chain operations.
Identify and implement best practices to drive continuous improvement in supply chain operations.
Leverage advanced analytics, IoT, and machine learning to enhance supply chain agility.
Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge.
Develop crisis management and contingency plans to address supply chain disruptions.
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (MBA preferred).
10+ years of experience in supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
Strong expertise in procurement, inventory management, logistics, and demand planning.
Proven track record in driving cost efficiency, operational excellence, and supply chain innovation.
Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced analytics tools.
Excellent leadership, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills.
Strong ability to negotiate high-value contracts and manage supplier relationships.
Experience in global supply chain operations and regulatory compliance is a plus.
