JobTitle: Restaurant Manager

Job Summary 

We are seeking a Restaurant Supervisor to oversee and manage daily restaurant operations while ensuring excellent customer service and smooth staff coordination. This role is ideal for individuals with 2-5 years of experience in restaurant or hospitality management, who are ready to take on more leadership responsibilities and help drive business success.
As a Restaurant Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising staff, maintaining service quality, handling customer concerns, and ensuring compliance with safety and hygiene standards. You will work closely with the restaurant manager to enhance guest experiences and improve operational efficiency.


Key Responsibilities: 

1. Restaurant Operations & Workflow Management

  • Oversee day-to-day restaurant operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
  • Monitor food preparation, presentation, and service quality to maintain high standards.
  • Assist in managing both front-of-house (FOH) and back-of-house (BOH) operations.
  • Ensure compliance with health, hygiene, and safety regulations.

2. Customer Service & Guest Satisfaction

  • Ensure top-tier customer service, handling guest inquiries and special requests.
  • Address and resolve customer complaints professionally and efficiently.
  • Implement customer feedback initiatives to enhance dining experiences.

3. Staff Supervision & Training

  • Supervise, train, and support restaurant staff, including servers, kitchen crew, and cashiers.
  • Assist in staff scheduling, shift planning, and task delegation.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and suggest improvements for staff development.

4. Inventory & Stock Management

  • Monitor restaurant inventory, including food supplies, beverages, and equipment.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to order stock and manage deliveries.
  • Minimize food waste through cost-effective inventory control.

5. Sales & Revenue Growth

  • Assist in increasing restaurant profitability by implementing promotional strategies.
  • Train staff on upselling menu items and special offers.
  • Monitor daily sales reports and suggest improvements to enhance revenue.

6. Hygiene, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with local food safety regulations and restaurant hygiene protocols.
  • Conduct routine cleanliness and safety inspections in both the kitchen and dining areas.
  • Train staff on safe food handling and emergency procedures.

7. POS & Technology Management

  • Operate and oversee the use of Point-of-Sale (POS) systems for billing and order management.
  • Assist in managing online reservations, delivery orders, and digital payment processes.
  • Use technology to track sales, inventory, and customer preferences.

8. Marketing & Customer Engagement

  • Support restaurant promotions and marketing campaigns, including social media outreach.
  • Engage with customers via review platforms and loyalty programs.
  • Help plan special events, theme nights, and seasonal promotions to attract more guests.

9. Crisis Management & Problem-Solving

  • Handle unexpected challenges, such as service delays, customer complaints, or equipment malfunctions.
  • Ensure staff is trained to manage stressful situations and emergency protocols.
  • Take proactive steps to improve operational efficiency and avoid future issues.

10. Professional Development & Leadership Growth

  • Work closely with senior management to learn advanced restaurant management techniques.
  • Take part in training programs, mentorship, and industry networking events.
  • Develop leadership and decision-making skills to advance into senior management roles.

1. Daily Restaurant Operations Management

  • Overseeing front-of-house (FOH) and back-of-house (BOH) coordination for seamless service.
  • Ensuring efficient table turnover, order accuracy, and prompt service.
  • Monitoring restaurant cleanliness, ambiance, and seating arrangements.
  • Handling opening and closing procedures to ensure smooth operations.

2. Customer Service & Guest Satisfaction

  • Ensuring customers receive high-quality service and a memorable dining experience.
  • Addressing and resolving guest complaints and special requests professionally.
  • Encouraging staff to engage with customers and provide personalized service.
  • Monitoring guest feedback and online reviews to improve service quality.

3. Staff Supervision & Team Leadership

  • Managing waitstaff, kitchen staff, and support teams to maintain performance excellence.
  • Assisting in staff training, mentoring, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensuring proper scheduling and task delegation to optimize shift operations.
  • Encouraging a positive work environment and staff motivation.

4. Inventory & Stock Control

  • Monitoring stock levels for food, beverages, and restaurant supplies.
  • Assisting in placing orders and reducing food waste and overstocking.
  • Conducting stock audits to track usage and minimize discrepancies.

5. Hygiene, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensuring compliance with health, sanitation, and food safety regulations.
  • Conducting regular cleanliness inspections of kitchen and dining areas.
  • Training staff on safety procedures, hygiene protocols, and emergency responses.

6. Financial Management & Cost Control

  • Assisting in tracking daily sales, revenue reports, and operational costs.
  • Implementing cost-saving measures without compromising service quality.
  • Monitoring staff productivity and overtime to control labor costs.

7. POS System & Order Management

  • Overseeing restaurant Point-of-Sale (POS) systems for transactions and reporting.
  • Assisting in managing online orders, reservations, and digital payment systems.
  • Ensuring accuracy in billing, order processing, and transaction handling.

8. Marketing & Customer Engagement

  • Collaborating with management to implement restaurant promotions and events.
  • Encouraging guests to participate in loyalty programs and special offers.
  • Assisting in social media engagement, online reviews, and customer outreach.

9. Crisis Management & Problem-Solving

  • Handling unexpected service issues, such as kitchen delays or equipment failures.
  • Resolving staff conflicts, guest disputes, and operational challenges.
  • Making quick, effective decisions to maintain service standards under pressure.

Qualifications & Skills:

1. Educational Background

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Restaurant Operations, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Certifications in Food Safety, HACCP, or ServSafe are a plus.
2. Work Experience
  • 2-5 years of experience in restaurant, food service, or hospitality management.
  • Prior experience in team supervision and guest service handling is preferred.
