Job Title: Junior Refrigeration Mechanic

Job Summary:

We are seeking a proactive and technically inclined Junior Refrigeration Mechanic to join our maintenance team. This role is ideal for individuals who have acquired some foundational knowledge or training in refrigeration and HVAC systems and are eager to further develop their technical skills in a hands-on environment. Working under the guidance of experienced mechanics, you will assist in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of refrigeration equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

Installation & Commissioning:

• Assist in the installation, calibration, and commissioning of refrigeration systems.
• Support senior mechanics during the setup and initial testing of refrigeration units to ensure proper functionality.

Maintenance & Repairs:

• Perform routine preventive maintenance tasks, including cleaning, lubrication, and inspection of refrigeration components.
• Aid in troubleshooting and diagnosing basic mechanical and electrical issues in refrigeration systems.
• Assist in disassembling, inspecting, and reassembling refrigeration equipment for repairs under supervision.

Safety & Compliance:

• Follow all safety protocols, company policies, and industry standards during maintenance and repair tasks.
• Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and help maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Participate in safety training sessions and adhere to established safety procedures.

Documentation & Reporting:

• Help maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage.
• Update maintenance logs and assist in preparing basic reports on system performance.
• Document any technical issues encountered and report them to the supervisor.

Learning & Development:

• Engage in on-the-job training to build technical proficiency in refrigeration systems.
• Collaborate with team members to understand system operations, troubleshooting techniques, and maintenance best practices.
• Stay informed on industry trends and emerging technologies in refrigeration and HVAC.

Qualifications and Skills:

Educational Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or coursework in refrigeration, HVAC technology, or related fields is an advantage.
• A basic understanding of mechanical or electrical systems is beneficial.

Experience:

• 1-3 years hands-on experience through internships, coursework, or training programs in refrigeration or HVAC systems is preferred.
• This is an entry-level position designed for candidates with limited professional experience.

Skills:

• Strong willingness to learn and develop technical skills in refrigeration maintenance and repair.
• Basic mechanical aptitude with familiarity using hand and power tools.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
• Attention to detail and adherence to standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.

Certifications (Preferred):

• Basic safety certifications (e.g., OSHA, First Aid/CPR) are a plus.
• Additional certifications in refrigeration or HVAC technology are beneficial but not mandatory.
