The Junior Receiving Inspector is responsible for conducting inbound quality checks on critical turbine components such as rotors, blades, and bearing housings. This role ensures that incoming materials meet visual, dimensional, and documentation requirements. The inspector supports traceability, preservation verification, and nonconformance identification during receiving operations, contributing to quality compliance in turbine assembly and service projects.
Inspect incoming turbine components for signs of damage, rust, impact, or improper packaging.
Check coatings, protective wrapping, and preservation status (e.g., VCI film, desiccants).
Perform basic dimensional checks using precision tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges) based on drawings or inspection criteria.
Confirm part markings, serial numbers, and identification tags against material master records.
Verify packing lists, delivery notes, mill test certificates (MTCs), and compliance documents (e.g., CoC, CoM).
Record receipt data and inspection findings in QA logs or ERP system.
Identify nonconforming items and initiate nonconformance reports (NCRs) or hold tags as per quality procedures.
Assist in segregation of rejected or hold materials in designated quarantine areas.
Follow safe handling procedures for large, heavy, or precision-engineered turbine components.
Ensure adherence to standards such as ISO 9001, API 611/612, ASME, and internal receiving protocols.
Visual and dimensional receiving inspection of turbine rotors, blades, and bearing housings

Identification and reporting of nonconforming components
Basic use of precision measurement tools
Support of QA compliance and preservation standards during inbound logistics
Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or QA/QC
Experience: 1–3 years in receiving inspection or mechanical QC, preferably in rotating equipment or heavy industry
Skills:
Proficient in basic measurement techniques and mechanical part identification
Ability to interpret part drawings and quality documentation
Attention to detail and consistency in inspection recordkeeping
Familiarity with ERP or digital inspection systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is a plus
