Roles & Responsibilities

The Fresher Receiving Inspector supports the inbound quality inspection of turbine components, including rotors, blades, and bearing housings. The role ensures that received parts meet basic visual, dimensional, and documentation requirements. This is an entry-level opportunity for recent graduates to gain hands-on experience in rotating equipment QA and inspection practices.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Inbound Visual Inspection

  • Assist in visual inspection of received turbine components for any signs of damage, corrosion, or handling defects.

  • Verify part tags, identification numbers, and condition of packaging upon delivery.

2. Documentation and Traceability

  • Match received components with purchase orders, packing lists, and material certificates (MTRs).

  • Ensure all documentation (inspection reports, delivery notes) is complete and filed properly.

3. Dimensional and Basic Quality Checks

  • Support measurement of critical dimensions using hand tools (calipers, micrometers) under supervision.

  • Confirm basic material condition and cleanliness prior to warehousing.

4. Coordination with Quality and Stores Teams

  • Inform QA or logistics teams of discrepancies or damage observed during receiving.

  • Assist in routing non-conforming items to hold areas and updating records accordingly.

5. Safety and Compliance

  • Follow safe handling practices for large or heavy turbine parts (rotors, blades, housings).

  • Learn relevant standards such as API 611/612, ISO 9001, and internal receiving protocols.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Visual inspection of turbine rotors, blades, and bearing housings at the point of receipt

  • Verification of delivery documentation and traceability against purchase orders

  • Identification of nonconforming or damaged items during receiving

  • Basic dimensional checks and safe handling of heavy mechanical parts

  • Familiarization with turbine QA standards (API/ISO/ASME)

Qualifications:

  • Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Quality, or Industrial Technology

  • Experience: 0–1 year (internship or academic project in mechanical QA/QC is a plus)

  • Skills:

    • Basic understanding of mechanical parts and drawings

    • Willingness to learn QA documentation and inspection procedures

    • Strong attention to detail and basic recordkeeping

    • Good communication and team coordination
