Job Title: Quality Control and Monitoring Systems Engineer
Job Summary:
The Junior Quality Control and Monitoring Systems Engineer is responsible for assisting in the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of quality control systems used in manufacturing and industrial settings. This role involves working with senior engineers to monitor, test, and evaluate product quality against defined standards, troubleshoot system issues, and assist in ensuring that all products meet regulatory requirements and quality benchmarks. The Junior Engineer will also support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Control System Setup and Operation:
- Assist in setting up and configuring quality control systems and monitoring equipment (e.g., sensors, inspection systems) for testing various product parameters.
- Support the operation of automated and manual quality control systems, including the calibration and maintenance of equipment.
- Help in the collection and preparation of product samples for quality testing according to set protocols.
Data Collection and Analysis:
- Assist in gathering and recording data from quality control systems, including the use of measurement devices such as calipers, micrometers, and spectrometers.
- Help analyze data to detect any trends, deviations, or anomalies in product quality and identify areas for corrective action.
- Assist in maintaining records of quality control tests, measurements, and inspections for future audits and reviews.
Troubleshooting and Equipment Maintenance:
- Support senior engineers in troubleshooting issues related to quality control systems, including sensors, control systems, and measurement instruments.
- Assist in routine inspections and maintenance of quality control equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Help implement preventive maintenance strategies to ensure the continued functionality and accuracy of testing and monitoring equipment.
Quality Compliance and Documentation:
- Assist in ensuring all quality control systems meet the required quality standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
- Help document quality control processes, including calibration records, test results, and maintenance logs, ensuring they are in compliance with industry standards.
- Assist in preparing reports on quality control findings, including recommendations for improvements when needed.
Process Monitoring and Improvement:
- Work alongside senior engineers to monitor production processes and evaluate the impact of quality control systems on overall product quality.
- Support process optimization efforts to reduce defects, improve product consistency, and enhance overall process efficiency.
- Participate in meetings to review quality control data and suggest process improvements based on analysis.
Collaboration and Cross-Functional Support:
- Work closely with operators, production teams, and other engineers to ensure quality standards are met throughout the production process.
- Assist in collaborating with maintenance and production teams to resolve any quality issues or system malfunctions quickly.
- Provide technical support to operators, addressing any issues related to the use of quality control systems.
Learning and Development:
- Continuously learn about new quality control technologies, equipment, and methodologies used in manufacturing processes.
- Participate in training sessions to improve technical skills related to quality control, process monitoring, and system optimization.
- Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in quality control systems and manufacturing quality assurance.
Skills and Knowledge Required:
- Basic understanding of quality control principles, tools, and techniques used to measure product quality (e.g., dimensional, chemical, or physical properties).
- Familiarity with quality control equipment and systems, including measurement tools, sensors, and automated inspection systems.
- Strong analytical skills to assist in data collection, analysis, and identifying trends or anomalies in product quality.
- Willingness to learn new tools, technologies, and methodologies related to process monitoring and quality control.
- Strong attention to detail, ensuring the accuracy of measurements, data, and system operations.
- Good problem-solving abilities to assist in troubleshooting issues with quality control systems and processes.

Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related technical field.
- Basic coursework or certifications in quality control systems, manufacturing processes, or statistical analysis is a plus.
Experience:
- 1-2 years of experience in quality control, process monitoring, or manufacturing quality assurance. Internships, academic projects, or hands-on training related to quality control are advantageous.
- Exposure to quality control tools or systems through coursework or practical experience is beneficial.
Tools and Technologies:
- Familiarity with quality control instruments and tools such as micrometers, calipers, spectrometers, and sensors.
- Basic understanding of data collection and analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Minitab).
- Exposure to SCADA systems or PLCs is beneficial.
