The Junior Quality Control Technician is responsible for conducting visual inspections and assisting in non-destructive examination (NDE) of turbine components prior to shipment. The role ensures that all parts meet technical, preservation, and export packaging standards. This position is ideal for candidates with foundational QA/QC experience who are ready to work hands-on in final inspection operations for high-value rotating equipment.
Conduct surface-level visual inspections of turbine parts (rotors, housings, skids, seals, etc.) for scratches, corrosion, coating defects, and damage.
Confirm part numbers, serial tags, and shipment markings are correct and legible.
Assist certified inspectors in executing PT (liquid penetrant), MT (magnetic particle), or UT (ultrasonic testing) on selected parts.
Prepare surfaces, set up equipment, and maintain cleanliness of inspection areas.
Interpret and record basic test results under supervision.
Verify export packaging, preservation methods (e.g., VCI, desiccants), and crate integrity against the project packing list and internal standards.
Report packaging non-conformities or preservation breaches promptly.
Complete inspection checklists, NDE forms, and non-conformance reports with accuracy.
Attach photo documentation and update part status in the QC tracking system.
Follow standard safety practices when working around heavy equipment and lifting machinery.
Apply applicable QA standards (API 611/612, ISO 9001, ASME, NACE) in daily tasks, under supervision.
Visual inspection and defect identification of turbine components pre-shipment
Support in NDE procedures (PT, MT, UT) on rotating equipment parts
Quality verification of export crating, labeling, and preservation methods
Traceability, documentation, and conformance reporting
Familiarity with industry standards for rotating equipment QA (API/ISO/ASME)
Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, QA/QC, or a related technical field
Experience: 1–3 years in quality control or inspection roles, ideally in a heavy equipment, rotating machinery, or fabrication environment
Skills:
Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and basic inspection requirements
Exposure to NDE tools or training (PT/MT/UT preferred)
Strong attention to detail and consistency in documentation
Good communication and ability to work with logistics, warehouse, and QA teams
