Execute day-to-day inspections, tests, and surveillance across civil, MEP, façade, and finishes works per the ITPs and project specifications—raising MIR/WIR, witnessing tests, preventing non-conformances, and documenting results—so the Category-3 G+3 project achieves first-time quality and smooth authority/consultant sign-offs.
Review approved Method Statements, ITPs, drawings/specs; prepare daily/weekly inspection plans aligned to look-ahead schedule.
Raise and follow through MIR/WIR with the consultant; maintain a live inspection register and hold/witness points.
Setting-out & formwork: line/level/plumb, dimensions, bracing, release agent, access/edge protection.
Reinforcement: size/spacing/couplers, cover blocks, cleanliness; embedded items and openings.
Concrete works: slump/temperature checks, cube sampling & labeling, pour sequence, vibration, curing, construction joints; post-pour surface & honeycomb checks.
Masonry/Plaster/Screed: block alignment and coursing, ties/anchors, control joints, plaster thickness/flatness, screed falls to drains.
Waterproofing: substrate prep, laps/terminations/primers, outlets & upturns, protection boards; flood/dye tests for wet areas/terraces/roofs.
Anchors/fasteners torque, frame alignment/tolerances, gaskets/packers, weep/drain paths, perimeter sealant (backer rod, joint size, finish), balustrade fixing and glass edge quality; witness hose/field tests where specified.
Tiling: layout, bonding coverage, lippage, movement joints, grout quality; balcony/wet-area falls.
Joinery/Doors: frame plumb, reveal gaps, hardware fit, fire-door seals & signage (where applicable).
Painting: substrate moisture/flatness, primer type, coat count, DFT/adhesion spot checks, sheen/color uniformity.
Plumbing/Drainage: material approvals, slopes/venting, insulation, supports, pressure tests, chlorination & water-quality results.
HVAC: duct classes/sealing, supports/clearances, insulation/vapor barriers, pressure/vacuum & leakage tests (if in spec), coil/filters clean before T&C.
Electrical: containment spacing/segregation, cable IDs/terminations/torque, IR/continuity, earthing/LP checks, lux & emergency duration tests.
Fire & Life Safety: FA device heights/spacing/labels, panel loop tests evidence, hose reel/wet riser installation, pump room layout & test headers, extinguisher types/locations, integrated cause-&-effect witnessing support.
Witness and log laboratory/field tests (concrete cubes, pull-out anchors, PRV settings, pump curves, OTDR/copper certification, etc.).
Keep calibrated instrument records and ensure only approved, in-date materials are used.
Maintain daily surveillance reports, photo records of concealed works, and redline as-builts with site engineers.
Raise NCRs/SORs, agree CARs, verify rectification, and clear snags within SLA; prevent recurrence via toolbox briefings with supervisors.
Present works cleanly for consultant/SCD/SEWA inspections; verify signage, access, and safety during demonstrations (pump runs, FA tests, lifts recall).
Coordinate with Document Control to ensure all approvals/test certificates are filed and retrievable.
Enforce safe conditions during inspections and tests: LOTO for electrical, hot-work permits, working at height for façade checks, confined space for tanks/manholes.
Heat & Humidity:
Plan inspections with crews early morning/evening; comply with MOHRE summer midday break.
Enforce concrete temperature limits and enhanced curing; extend drying/curing checks for screeds, waterproofing, sealants, paints, and adhesives.
Verify ventilation/ambient limits in electrical/pump rooms (batteries, panels, controllers).
Dust/Sand:
Add pre-application clean-surface checks (coatings, sealants, glazing, ELV terminations).
Ensure ducts/pipe ends and electrical boxes are sealed; require coil/filters clean before T&C.
Occasional Rain/Coastal Influence:
Inspect roof/balcony drainage and overflow routes; check re-instated scaffolds/edge protection after rain; weatherproof penetrations and external JBs; prefer corrosion-resistant fixings where specified.
Traffic & Logistics:
For quality-critical deliveries (switchgear, glass, pumps), schedule off-peak with banksmen; arrange SRTA/Police permits if road occupation/cranes/pumps affect public roads.
Keep inspection routes clear; protect completed finishes during material movements.
Diploma/Bachelor’s in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical (or equivalent).
5–8+ years QC inspection experience on UAE/GCC building projects (low/mid-rise).
Familiar with project-specified codes/standards (ACI/BS/EN/ASTM/NFPA/IEC) and authority practices (SCD/SEWA/Sharjah Municipality).
Competent with ITPs, MIR/WIR, test witnessing, NCR/CAR processes; basic AutoCAD for redlines; MS Office.
English required; Arabic an advantage.
Slump cone & thermometer, cube molds & tags, cover meter, torque wrench, DFT/adhesion gauges, hygrometer/moisture meter, IR thermometer/thermal camera, anemometer/flow hood, manometer, lux & sound level meters, megger & earth tester, cable certifier (Fluke), OTDR, pressure/vacuum gauges, chlorination kit/strips, anchor pull-out tester, labeler, calibrated gauges/PPE.
First-time-pass mindset & attention to detail
Clear acceptance criteria and assertive but fair communication
Thorough documentation & traceability
Cross-trade coordination and practical problem-solving
Safety-aware inspection practice
≥95% first-time pass on consultant/authority inspections.
NCR closure within agreed SLA (e.g., ≤7–14 days) with zero repeat findings.
Concrete cube compliance ≥ target; waterproofing flood tests pass first attempt.
On-time inspection support enabling riser/ceiling closures and handovers.
Minimal DLP defects attributable to workmanship/inspection misses.
