Job Title: Quality Engineer

Job Summary:

The Senior Quality Engineer is responsible for leading and managing quality assurance activities to ensure products, processes, and systems meet or exceed organizational and industry standards. This role involves developing quality strategies, performing advanced inspections and audits, mentoring team members, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The Senior Quality Engineer acts as a key technical resource, providing expertise in resolving complex quality issues and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance and Control:

  • Lead and manage quality assurance processes across all production stages to ensure product and process compliance.
  • Perform advanced inspections and audits to identify quality gaps and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Analyze quality performance metrics and provide actionable recommendations for continuous improvement.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Oversee the preparation and maintenance of comprehensive quality records, reports, and compliance documents.
  • Present detailed quality performance analyses and improvement plans to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure all documentation adheres to international quality standards, such as ISO 9001, and is audit-ready.

Compliance and Standards:

  • Ensure organizational compliance with industry standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, AS9100, or equivalent) and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead internal and external audits, addressing non-conformities and ensuring timely implementation of corrective actions.
  • Stay updated on changes in quality standards and regulations, integrating them into organizational processes.

Process Improvement:

  • Drive quality improvement initiatives to reduce defects, enhance product reliability, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Evaluate and integrate advanced quality tools, technologies, and methodologies to optimize processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement robust quality control measures and best practices.

Team Leadership and Mentorship:

  • Mentor and train junior and mid-level quality engineers, fostering technical growth and professional development.
  • Provide leadership in cross-functional quality projects, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Act as a technical authority for quality-related issues, guiding teams in resolving complex challenges.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Work closely with production, engineering, supply chain, and customer service teams to address quality concerns and meet client expectations.
  • Communicate with clients and regulatory authorities to resolve quality-related queries and ensure compliance.

Skills and Knowledge Required:

  • In-depth understanding of quality assurance principles, methodologies, and tools.
  • Expertise in statistical process control (SPC), root cause analysis, Six Sigma, and lean manufacturing techniques.
  • Advanced knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001, AS9100) and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency in using advanced inspection tools, such as coordinate measuring machines (CMM), optical comparators, and hardness testers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for resolving complex quality issues and driving improvements.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Advanced certifications in quality management (e.g., Six Sigma Black Belt, ISO 9001 Lead Auditor) are highly desirable.

  • Process Control in Drilling, Refining, and Extraction: Leading the development and implementation of advanced quality assurance processes for process control systems, optimizing for operational efficiency and compliance.
  • SCADA Systems for Pipeline Management: Overseeing the quality management of SCADA systems, ensuring full integration, testing, and long-term reliability of all components.
  • Safety and Emergency Shutdown Systems: Leading the quality assurance efforts for safety-critical systems, implementing best practices, and ensuring regulatory compliance and reliability of shutdown protocols.
  • Environmental and Regulatory Compliance: Spearheading compliance initiatives across all systems, conducting high-level audits, and ensuring adherence to environmental, regulatory, and industry standards at an organizational level.

Experience:

  • 7-10 years of experience in quality assurance or a related field, with proven expertise in leading quality initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex quality systems and successfully implement process improvements.

  • Proficiency in quality management software (e.g., Minitab, SPC software) and ERP systems.
  • Familiarity with data visualization and analysis tools to support quality decision-making.
