Job Title: Quality Engineer

Job Summary:

The Mid-Level Quality Engineer is responsible for independently managing and improving quality assurance processes, conducting detailed inspections and audits, and ensuring compliance with organizational and industry standards. This role involves leading quality improvement initiatives, analyzing data for process optimization, and mentoring junior team members to ensure consistent adherence to quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance and Control:

  • Conduct detailed inspections and audits of products, components, and processes to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions for recurring quality issues.
  • Analyze quality performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Develop and maintain detailed records of inspections, test results, and quality audits.
  • Prepare comprehensive quality reports, highlighting key metrics and recommendations for improvement.
  • Ensure all documentation complies with quality management standards and regulatory requirements.

Compliance and Standards:

  • Ensure processes comply with international standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, or other relevant guidelines.
  • Participate in internal and external quality audits, preparing necessary documentation and addressing non-conformities.
  • Monitor regulatory and industry developments to keep quality processes updated.

Process Improvement:

  • Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance product reliability and process efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement changes that reduce defects and improve productivity.
  • Evaluate new tools and technologies to enhance quality inspection and assurance practices.

Team Collaboration and Mentorship:

  • Work closely with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to ensure quality goals are achieved.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior quality engineers and technicians.
  • Deliver training programs to ensure team members understand and follow quality standards.

Skills and Knowledge Required:

  • Proficient understanding of quality assurance principles, methodologies, and tools.
  • Expertise in statistical process control (SPC), root cause analysis, and problem-solving techniques.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001) and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with advanced inspection tools, such as coordinate measuring machines (CMM), calipers, and micrometers.
  • Analytical skills to interpret data and provide actionable insights for quality improvements.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Certification in quality management or Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher) is highly desirable.

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience in quality assurance, with proven expertise in quality process management.
  • Hands-on experience with quality improvement initiatives and successful implementation of corrective actions.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Process Control in Drilling, Refining, and Extraction: Leading quality assurance efforts for process control systems, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards.
  • SCADA Systems for Pipeline Management: Managing the quality control processes for SCADA-integrated systems, including performance monitoring, testing, and optimization of components.
  • Safety and Emergency Shutdown Systems: Overseeing the quality assurance of safety and emergency shutdown systems, ensuring their reliability and compliance with safety standards.
  • Environmental and Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring that all systems and products comply with environmental and regulatory requirements, conducting audits, and maintaining quality documentation.

Tools and Technologies:

  • Advanced inspection tools, such as CMM, calipers, and hardness testers.
  • Familiarity with quality management software (e.g., Minitab, SPC software).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and data visualization tools.
