Job Title: Quality Engineer
Job Summary:
The Fresher Quality Engineer is responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and maintenance of quality management systems. This role involves performing basic quality checks, assisting in audits, and ensuring that products and processes meet organizational and industry standards. The Quality Engineer works under the guidance of senior engineers and gains foundational skills in quality assurance practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Control and Assurance:
- Perform basic inspections and tests on products, components, or processes to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Assist in monitoring production processes to identify potential quality issues.
- Support the collection and analysis of data to track product quality metrics.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and other quality-related activities.
- Prepare basic reports on quality performance and findings for review by senior engineers.
- Ensure proper documentation of quality issues and corrective actions.
Compliance and Standards:
- Assist in implementing quality management systems in compliance with ISO 9001 or other relevant standards.
- Gain familiarity with industry-specific regulations and organizational quality guidelines.
- Follow established protocols to ensure consistency in quality assurance activities.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with production teams to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Support senior quality engineers in identifying and resolving quality issues.
- Participate in team discussions to suggest improvements in products or processes.
Learning and Development:
- Attend training sessions to gain knowledge of quality tools and techniques, such as Six Sigma or statistical process control (SPC).
- Develop an understanding of root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
- Gain familiarity with quality software tools and systems.
Skills and Knowledge Required:
- Basic understanding of quality assurance principles and methodologies.
- Familiarity with inspection tools and techniques, such as calipers, micrometers, or gauges.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify quality issues.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel) and basic reporting skills.
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Coursework or training in quality management or assurance is an advantage but not mandatory.
Key Focus Areas:
- Process Control in Drilling, Refining, and Extraction: Assisting in quality checks and documentation for process control systems to ensure compliance with standards.
- SCADA Systems for Pipeline Management: Supporting the inspection and quality verification of SCADA-integrated components under supervision.
- Safety and Emergency Shutdown Systems: Learning and contributing to the quality assurance of safety-critical and emergency shutdown systems.
- Environmental and Regulatory Compliance: Assisting in monitoring and ensuring compliance with environmental and industry regulations through data collection and reporting.
Experience:
- No prior experience required; internships or academic projects related to quality assurance are beneficial.
Tools and Technologies:
- Basic inspection tools, such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Exposure to quality management software or statistical tools (e.g., Minitab) is a plus.
