Job Title: QA/QC Inspector
Job Summary:
The Junior QA/QC Inspector will be responsible for supporting the quality assurance and quality control processes within a manufacturing, construction, or production environment. This role involves performing basic inspections, ensuring products meet quality standards, and assisting in identifying areas for improvement. The Junior QA/QC Inspector will work under the guidance of senior inspectors or quality managers to learn and develop skills in quality testing, audits, and documentation, with a focus on maintaining high standards of product quality, compliance, and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspection and Testing:
- Assist in the inspection of materials, components, and finished products to ensure they meet defined quality standards.
- Conduct routine testing of products, such as checking dimensions, tolerances, and functionality, using appropriate measuring tools and equipment (e.g., calipers, gauges, or visual inspections).
- Report and document inspection results, including defects or deviations, to senior quality personnel.
- Support the identification of any non-conformance or discrepancies found during inspections and tests.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of inspection results, including checklists, reports, and testing data.
- Help create and update quality control documents such as inspection reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and corrective action logs.
- Ensure that all documentation is completed promptly and accurately, in compliance with company procedures and industry standards.
Compliance and Safety:
- Assist in ensuring compliance with relevant quality standards and regulations (e.g., ISO 9001, industry-specific standards).
- Follow all health and safety guidelines during inspections and work processes to ensure a safe working environment.
- Participate in maintaining safe, organized working conditions, including cleaning tools and equipment after inspections.
Support for Audits and Quality Reviews:
- Assist senior QA/QC personnel in preparing for internal and external audits by gathering relevant documentation and materials.
- Help conduct audits to verify compliance with established quality control processes and standards.
- Participate in quality reviews to identify areas for improvement and contribute to the development of corrective actions.
Assisting in Non-Conformance Identification:
- Assist in identifying quality issues or defects, and document non-conformance related to the product or materials.
- Report any problems with processes, products, or materials to senior QA/QC staff for review and corrective action.
- Learn to conduct root cause analysis and work with the team to resolve recurring issues effectively.
Learning and Development:
- Continuously learn and gain knowledge of quality assurance and quality control practices and tools.
- Participate in training programs to improve inspection skills, knowledge of quality standards, and understanding of the company's quality management system.
- Work closely with senior inspectors to improve technical proficiency in quality control processes.
Collaboration with Teams:
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to ensure that quality standards are met throughout the production process.
- Communicate quality issues effectively with relevant departments and participate in discussions to resolve problems.
Skills and Knowledge Required:
- Basic understanding of quality control principles, testing techniques, and inspection procedures.
- Familiarity with measurement tools and techniques (e.g., calipers, micrometers, or other measurement tools).
- Ability to follow technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail to identify and document defects or deviations from quality standards.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team and communicate effectively with senior staff.
- Basic knowledge of quality standards and safety regulations (ISO, industry-specific standards) is an advantage.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel) for documentation and reporting is a plus.
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related field), Quality Management, or a similar technical field.
- Any certifications related to quality control or ISO standards are a plus but not mandatory.
Experience:
- No prior professional experience is required.
- Internships, academic projects, or exposure to quality control activities in an industrial or manufacturing environment are advantageous.
Key Focus Areas:
Power Distribution Networks
- Inspecting basic power distribution installations to ensure alignment with project requirements and standards.
SCADA and PLC Systems
- Performing quality checks on SCADA and PLC system components for proper installation and operation.
Electrical Safety Standards and Codes (IEC, NEC)
- Verifying compliance with IEC, NEC, and other applicable safety codes during inspections.
QA/QC Inspection Procedures
- Supporting quality assurance processes, including documenting inspections and reporting non-conformance.
Tools and Technologies:
- Familiarity with quality control tools and equipment such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and visual inspection tools.
- Exposure to quality management systems and software (e.g., SAP, Minitab) is a plus.
Other Requirements:
