Job Title: QA/QC Inspector
Job Summary:
The QA/QC Inspector (Fresher) will be responsible for assisting in ensuring the quality of products and services by supporting the Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes. The role involves performing inspections, tests, and audits of products, materials, and equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards, regulations, and client specifications. The Junior QA/QC Inspector will work under the supervision of senior quality managers to learn best practices in maintaining and improving the quality control systems and processes across various manufacturing or production environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspection and Testing:
- Assist in conducting inspections of raw materials, in-process components, and finished products to verify compliance with quality standards and customer specifications.
- Perform basic physical and functional tests on products to ensure that they meet quality and performance criteria.
- Help in evaluating the quality of products by reviewing sample products, measuring product dimensions, and assessing finishes or coatings.
- Record inspection results and assist in documenting test data for future reference.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspection results, including pass/fail status, test results, and any deviations found.
- Help create and maintain quality inspection reports to ensure products meet quality standards.
- Assist in generating non-conformance reports (NCRs) for defective products and contribute to compiling corrective action reports.
Support for Quality Audits:
- Assist in internal and external quality audits, ensuring that products, processes, and systems meet regulatory and organizational requirements.
- Help senior team members prepare for audits by reviewing compliance documentation, checking audit trails, and confirming proper inspection procedures are followed.
- Take part in gathering evidence and preparing documentation to support audit findings.
Non-Conformance Identification and Corrective Actions:
- Report any non-conformance or deviations from quality standards to senior QA/QC staff.
- Support the analysis of root causes for quality issues and contribute to discussions regarding corrective actions or improvements.
- Help with corrective action follow-ups to ensure issues are addressed, and systems are updated to prevent recurrence.
Process Improvement:
- Assist in monitoring manufacturing processes and performance to identify opportunities for improvements in product quality and efficiency.
- Learn and apply various quality tools and techniques such as Six Sigma, Fishbone Diagram, Pareto Analysis, etc., under the guidance of senior quality staff.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss quality improvement strategies and ways to ensure adherence to quality standards.
Training and Learning:
- Learn the organization’s quality management systems, standards, and procedures (e.g., ISO 9001, ASME, etc.).
- Attend internal training on quality inspection techniques, safety regulations, and product standards to develop a solid foundation in QA/QC practices.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging quality control technologies and methods.
Health, Safety, and Compliance:
- Follow health and safety procedures when conducting inspections to ensure personal and team safety.
- Assist in ensuring that all quality control activities comply with environmental, safety, and regulatory standards.
Skills and Knowledge Required:
- Basic understanding of quality control principles, testing techniques, and inspection procedures.
- Knowledge of various measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges) and their uses in product inspection.
- Ability to understand and follow technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Attention to detail and strong observational skills to identify deviations from quality standards.
- Basic understanding of ISO standards, quality management systems, or similar industry standards is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain accurate documentation and records.
- Good communication skills to interact with team members and report findings to senior QA/QC staff.
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or a related field) or any relevant technical field.
- Basic certifications or coursework in quality control, ISO 9001, or related areas are advantageous but not required.
Experience:
- No prior professional experience required.
- Internship or academic projects related to quality control, inspections, or production environments are beneficial.
Tools and Technologies:
- Familiarity with basic measurement and inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Exposure to Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for documentation and report generation.
- Basic understanding of software tools used for quality management and reporting is a plus (e.g., SAP, Minitab, etc.).
