Roles & Responsibilities

Job Summary:

The Senior QA/QC Technician leads quality control inspections, manages compliance documentation, and ensures all site activities conform to the approved quality standards and procedures. The role includes supervising inspection activities, interfacing with consultants and third-party agencies, and guiding junior QA/QC staff in maintaining high standards across all phases of the project.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and perform technical inspections of site activities and materials in accordance with approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).

  • Ensure quality assurance and control measures are strictly followed throughout construction, fabrication, or installation processes.

  • Prepare and review quality reports, inspection requests (IRs), non-conformance reports (NCRs), and material submittals.

  • Coordinate and communicate with consultants, clients, and third-party inspectors to ensure timely approvals.

  • Verify materials, workmanship, and procedures against project specifications, drawings, and codes.

  • Supervise and mentor mid/junior QA/QC staff and technicians.

  • Manage documentation including method statements, material approvals, test results, and as-built records.

  • Ensure calibration and proper usage of testing instruments and equipment.

  • Participate in root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and monitor effectiveness.

  • Support internal/external quality audits and ensure ongoing ISO 9001 compliance.

  • Provide feedback to the QA/QC Engineer to improve quality planning and execution processes.


Requirements:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

  • 6+ years of experience in QA/QC roles, including supervisory responsibilities.

  • In-depth knowledge of international quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ASTM, ACI, BS, API, IEC).

  • Excellent ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and codes.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and documentation skills.

  • Familiarity with QA/QC software, MS Office, and digital inspection systems.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • ISO 9001 Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor certification.

  • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), NDT Level II/III, or equivalent (as per discipline).

  • Experience working in major projects (infrastructure, oil & gas, industrial, or MEP-focused environments).
