The Mid-Level QA/QC Supervisor – Turbine Maintenance is responsible for overseeing the implementation of quality control procedures during maintenance, inspection, and overhaul of steam/gas turbines and auxiliary systems. This role ensures that all maintenance activities are performed in compliance with technical specifications, industry standards, OEM guidelines, and site-specific quality plans.
Supervise all QA/QC activities related to turbine inspections, repairs, and maintenance.
Develop and implement Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) for turbine systems and critical rotating equipment.
Monitor and verify compliance with OEM specifications, drawings, and approved maintenance procedures.
Conduct visual and dimensional inspections during turbine dismantling, refurbishment, and assembly stages.
Support or witness Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods (UT, PT, MT, RT) as required.
Review and manage QA documentation such as NCRs, CARs, inspection checklists, torque logs, and alignment reports.
Coordinate with OEM engineers, third-party inspectors, and internal stakeholders during major overhauls and shutdowns.
Ensure traceability and conformity of materials and components used in turbine maintenance.
Maintain and calibrate inspection tools and equipment in accordance with QA standards.
Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations for equipment failures or quality incidents.
Train junior inspectors and promote quality awareness within the turbine maintenance team.
Inspection of turbine blades, rotors, bearings, casings, diaphragms, and auxiliary components.
Oversight of reassembly tolerances: axial/radial clearances, coupling alignment, bolt torquing, etc.
Monitoring turbine startup and performance verification post-maintenance.
Implementation and control of QA documentation: ITPs, WPS, checklists, final dossiers.
Ensuring compliance with ISO 9001, ASME, API, and OEM standards.
Documenting and resolving quality issues with clear records and traceability.
QA supervision during planned outages and emergency turbine interventions.
Coordinating inspection schedules and verifying completion of critical milestone activities.
Liaise with mechanical, HSE, and planning teams to ensure integration of QA in all maintenance activities.
Coordinate with vendors, calibration labs, and third-party inspectors.
Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
Experience: 5–8 years in QA/QC; 3+ years specifically in turbine or rotating equipment maintenance.
Industries: Power Generation, Oil & Gas, EPC, Heavy Industrial Maintenance
Strong understanding of turbine operation and critical tolerances.
Familiarity with QA/QC processes, codes, and standards (ISO, ASME, API).
Proficient in using precision measuring tools, NDT techniques, and interpretation of inspection results.
Knowledge of CMMS (SAP, Maximo) and quality management systems.
Excellent communication, documentation, and reporting abilities.
Field-based role with exposure to high-noise, rotating machinery, and confined spaces.
Shift work, overtime, and availability during plant shutdowns may be required.
Mandatory PPE usage and adherence to site HSE policies.
