Job Title: Senior Pump Maintenance Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and knowledgeable Senior Pump Maintenance Technician to lead our pump maintenance and repair operations. This role is ideal for individuals with extensive expertise in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and optimizing pump systems. The technician will be responsible for overseeing maintenance activities, training junior and mid-level technicians, and implementing best practices to ensure maximum efficiency and reliability of pump systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the inspection, maintenance, and repair of pumps, motors, valves, piping systems, and mechanical components.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex pump failures, inefficiencies, and performance issues.
  • Perform system assessments and recommend upgrades, modifications, and optimizations.
  • Ensure proper alignment, balancing, and installation of pump systems.
  • Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Maintain detailed maintenance records and prepare technical reports on system performance.
  • Enforce and uphold safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with engineers and management to improve system reliability and efficiency.
  • Provide mentorship and hands-on training to junior and mid-level technicians.
  • Manage inventory and procurement of spare parts, tools, and equipment.

Key Focus Area:

  • Leadership & Reliability Engineering: The primary focus of this role is to lead the pump maintenance team, ensure adherence to industry best practices, and enhance system reliability through advanced troubleshooting, predictive maintenance, and process improvements.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in mechanical, industrial maintenance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in pump maintenance, mechanical repairs, or a related field.
  • Deep understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pump operations.
  • Expertise in diagnosing and resolving complex mechanical and electrical pump issues.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Experience with predictive maintenance techniques such as vibration analysis, thermography, and ultrasound testing.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, calibration equipment, and precision measurement instruments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Good physical stamina and ability to lift heavy equipment when necessary.
  • Valid driver’s license may be required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with a wide range of pump types (centrifugal, submersible, diaphragm, reciprocating, etc.).
  • Knowledge of advanced lubrication principles, alignment techniques, and failure analysis.
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Experience in industrial environments such as manufacturing, water treatment, or oil and gas.
