Job Title: Mid-Level Pump Maintenance Technician
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled
Mid-Level Pump Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals with a solid foundation in pump maintenance and repair who are looking to further develop their expertise. The technician will be responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing various types of pumps and related mechanical systems. This position offers the opportunity to work independently while also mentoring junior technicians.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on pumps, motors, valves, piping systems, and mechanical components.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair pump failures, inefficiencies, and mechanical issues.
- Disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble pump systems while ensuring proper alignment and operation.
- Conduct detailed performance assessments and recommend solutions for system optimization.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment condition reports.
- Adhere to and enforce safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.
- Work closely with engineers and senior technicians to implement system improvements.
- Assist in inventory management for spare parts and necessary supplies.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior technicians.
Key Focus Area:
- Advanced Troubleshooting & System Optimization: The primary focus of this role is diagnosing complex pump system failures, optimizing performance, and implementing proactive maintenance strategies to reduce downtime and enhance system reliability.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in mechanical, industrial maintenance, or a related field is preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in pump maintenance, mechanical repairs, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pump operations.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment for troubleshooting.
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift heavy equipment when necessary.
- Valid driver’s license may be required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with various types of pumps (centrifugal, submersible, diaphragm, reciprocating, etc.).
- Knowledge of vibration analysis, lubrication principles, and alignment techniques.
- Familiarity with industrial safety procedures and compliance standards.
- Experience in reading and interpreting technical manuals and blueprints.
- Knowledge of predictive maintenance techniques such as thermography and ultrasound testing.
