Job Title: Junior Level Pump Maintenance Technician
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented
Junior Level Pump Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals with basic mechanical knowledge and a willingness to learn and grow within the field of pump maintenance and repair. The technician will assist in inspecting, maintaining, and repairing various types of pumps and related equipment to ensure optimal functionality. This position provides an excellent opportunity to develop hands-on experience and technical skills in an industrial setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the inspection, maintenance, and repair of pumps, motors, valves, piping systems, and related mechanical equipment.
- Conduct routine preventative maintenance to ensure the longevity and efficiency of pumps.
- Help diagnose and troubleshoot pump failures, inefficiencies, and mechanical issues.
- Support the dismantling, assembly, and installation of pump components.
- Monitor pump performance and assist in making necessary adjustments.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment condition reports.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines, company policies, and industry best practices while performing tasks.
- Work closely with senior technicians and engineers to gain hands-on experience and technical knowledge.
- Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean, organized, and properly maintained.
- Assist in inventory management for spare parts and necessary supplies.
Key Focus Area:
- Preventative Maintenance & Efficiency Optimization: The primary focus of this role is to assist in implementing and performing preventative maintenance tasks to minimize equipment downtime and enhance the efficiency of pump systems. The technician will learn how to identify early signs of wear and inefficiency to prevent costly repairs and failures.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in mechanical, industrial maintenance, or a related field is preferred.
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pump operations.
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions from experienced technicians.
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift heavy equipment when necessary.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license may be required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in pump maintenance, plumbing, mechanical repairs, or a related field is an advantage.
- Knowledge of different types of pumps (centrifugal, submersible, diaphragm, reciprocating, etc.).
- Familiarity with industrial safety procedures and compliance standards.
- Understanding of vibration analysis, lubrication principles, and alignment techniques.
