We are looking for a results-driven Project Manager – HVAC Installations and Upgrades to lead the planning, execution, and completion of HVAC-related capital projects. The role is responsible for managing end-to-end HVAC system installations, retrofits, and upgrades within industrial, commercial, or regulated environments. The Project Manager will work closely with internal stakeholders, contractors, and engineering teams to ensure quality, budget, and schedule targets are met.
Project Planning and Execution
Define project scope, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements for HVAC installation and upgrade projects.
Develop detailed project schedules and ensure alignment with operational goals.
Vendor and Contractor Management
Source, evaluate, and manage HVAC contractors and equipment vendors.
Review and approve technical submittals, equipment selections, and installation methods.
Budget and Cost Control
Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to financial constraints.
Monitor expenditures and implement corrective actions to avoid overruns.
Technical Oversight and Quality Assurance
Ensure HVAC systems are designed, installed, and commissioned according to project specifications, industry codes (ASHRAE, SMACNA), and site standards.
Conduct regular site inspections and resolve technical challenges in collaboration with engineering and maintenance teams.
Safety and Compliance
Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols during all phases of HVAC work.
Ensure all HVAC installations comply with local building codes, environmental regulations, and, where applicable, FDA, GMP, or cleanroom standards.
Stakeholder Communication
Serve as the primary point of contact for internal departments, external consultants, and contractors.
Provide regular progress updates, risk assessments, and issue resolution reports to leadership.
Commissioning and Handover
Oversee testing, balancing, and commissioning activities.
Prepare handover documentation including O&M manuals, warranties, and as-built drawings.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
5–10 years of project management experience, with a strong emphasis on HVAC installations or upgrades.
PMP or equivalent project management certification preferred.
Solid knowledge of HVAC system design, controls, and installation best practices.
Familiarity with applicable building codes and safety regulations (e.g., ASHRAE, OSHA, LEED).
Experience managing projects in regulated industries (e.g., pharmaceuticals, food processing, healthcare) is a plus.
Strong leadership and organizational abilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Technical acumen in HVAC systems, controls, and commissioning
Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, AutoCAD, BIM)
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in fast-paced environments
Ability to travel to job sites as required.
Must be able to walk construction sites, climb ladders, and inspect HVAC systems in mechanical spaces.
