Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Project Manager – Control Systems Upgrade to lead and coordinate end-to-end upgrade projects for Distributed Control Systems (DCS), PLCs, SCADA, and Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) in complex industrial environments. This role is responsible for managing planning, budgeting, vendor coordination, execution, and commissioning of control system modernization efforts, ensuring minimal disruption to plant operations, and full compliance with safety and performance standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, manage, and execute control system upgrade projects across multiple sites or production units.

  • Oversee migration or replacement of legacy DCS/PLC/SCADA platforms with minimal impact on operations.

  • Develop project schedules, budgets, risk assessments, and resource plans in alignment with company goals.

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including engineering, automation, IT, maintenance, and operations.

  • Manage vendor selection, procurement, FAT/SAT, installation, and commissioning activities.

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards (IEC, ISA, API, NFPA) and cybersecurity frameworks (ISA/IEC 62443).

  • Supervise system integration activities and interface with instrumentation, safety systems, and process networks.

  • Report on project KPIs, technical challenges, scope changes, and mitigation strategies.

  • Lead change management processes and user training for new or upgraded control platforms.

  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, handover packages, and as-built system drawings.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, Control Systems, or Automation Engineering

  • 10–15 years of experience in industrial automation/control systems, with 5+ years in project management roles

  • Proven experience in DCS/PLC upgrade projects (e.g., Emerson DeltaV, Siemens PCS7, Honeywell Experion, Yokogawa, ABB 800xA)

  • PMP certification or equivalent project management credentials preferred

  • Knowledge of industrial safety systems and standards (IEC 61511, TÜV certification is a plus)

  • Familiarity with control networks, cybersecurity, and process integration

  • Strong leadership, vendor negotiation, and problem-solving skills
