Job Title: Process Equipment Installation Supervisor

Job Summary:

The Senior Process Equipment Installation Supervisor is responsible for leading the comprehensive planning, execution, and successful delivery of complex process equipment installation projects across multiple food and beverage manufacturing sites. This role directs installation teams and contractors, ensures strict compliance with sanitary standards and regulatory requirements, and collaborates closely with engineering, quality, and operations leadership to meet project timelines, budgets, and performance goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the installation of advanced process equipment, including tanks, pumps, valves, piping systems, fillers, mixers, and conveyors, ensuring hygienic and operational excellence.

  • Manage and mentor installation supervisors, field technicians, contractors, and subcontractors across multiple projects or sites.

  • Develop and oversee detailed project installation schedules, coordinating cross-functional resources to minimize production impact.

  • Review and approve complex equipment layouts, P&IDs, and installation plans, ensuring compliance with 3-A Sanitary Standards, FDA, USDA, and FSMA regulations.

  • Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and promote a strong culture of safety on-site.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to installation processes, work quality, and project delivery.

  • Collaborate with project managers, engineering, procurement, quality assurance, and maintenance teams to resolve technical and operational challenges during installations.

  • Monitor and report on project progress, risks, and costs; implement corrective actions to keep projects on track.

  • Lead commissioning activities and validation processes, ensuring installed equipment meets design specifications and performance criteria.

  • Foster development and training of installation personnel to enhance technical skills and compliance awareness.

Qualifications & Skills:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical discipline preferred.

  • Project management certification (PMP, CAPM) is a plus.

Experience:

  • 7+ years of process equipment installation experience in food, beverage, pharmaceutical, or related regulated industries.

  • Proven leadership of large-scale installation projects with multi-disciplinary teams.

  • Experience working with sanitary mechanical design and regulatory compliance in installation settings.

Technical Skills:

  • Expert knowledge of sanitary process equipment, piping, utilities, and installation best practices.

  • Proficient in interpreting P&IDs, equipment specifications, and project documentation.

  • Strong understanding of 3-A Sanitary Standards, FDA, USDA, FSMA, and safety regulations.

  • Skilled in commissioning, validation, and troubleshooting of installed equipment.
