The Junior Process Equipment Installation Supervisor supports the coordination and execution of installing sanitary process equipment in a food or beverage manufacturing facility. Working under the guidance of senior supervisors or project managers, this role assists in managing contractors, reviewing equipment layouts, and ensuring safe, hygienic, and efficient installations aligned with food safety and engineering standards.
Assist in supervising the installation of tanks, pumps, valves, process piping, mixers, fillers, and other mechanical systems.
Support alignment checks, utility hookups, equipment rigging, and anchor installations.
Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams to ensure accurate installation per layout drawings and specifications.
Monitor installation work for adherence to 3-A Sanitary Standards, USDA/FDA compliance, and plant safety policies.
Track progress, report deviations, and escalate issues to senior supervisors or engineers.
Maintain daily installation logs, material receipts, and punch list updates.
Ensure that clean work practices are followed to protect hygienic zones and avoid contamination.
Assist during commissioning activities and support basic start-up procedures.
Work closely with QA, Maintenance, and Engineering to meet quality and functional expectations.
Education:
High school diploma or GED required.
Associate degree or technical training in Mechanical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or related field preferred.
Experience:
0–2 years of relevant experience in industrial equipment installation or maintenance.
Exposure to food, beverage, dairy, or pharmaceutical manufacturing environments is a plus.
Technical Skills:
Basic understanding of mechanical systems, sanitary piping, and utility hookups.
Familiar with interpreting layout drawings, P&IDs, and basic construction plans.
Comfortable using tools, ladders, PPE, and working in industrial settings.
Understanding of food plant safety and clean construction practices.
Soft Skills:
Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to take direction and manage multiple tasks on-site.
Flexible schedule and ability to work overtime or weekends as needed.
