Job Title: Process Control Technician

Job Summary:

The Process Control Technician (Fresher) will be responsible for assisting in the setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of process control systems in manufacturing and industrial environments. This entry-level position provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in monitoring and controlling automated systems, maintaining instrumentation, and ensuring production processes run smoothly and efficiently. The Process Control Technician will work under the supervision of senior technicians and engineers, providing valuable support to optimize system performance and assist in troubleshooting issues that arise in the production environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Process Control Systems Support:

    • Assist in setting up, calibrating, and maintaining process control systems used in manufacturing, including instruments, sensors, and control valves.
    • Support the installation and configuration of control systems, ensuring they are functioning correctly and meet operational specifications.
    • Monitor automated production systems to ensure they operate within optimal parameters and produce products according to quality standards.
  2. Instrumentation Maintenance and Calibration:

    • Help maintain and calibrate instrumentation, sensors, and other control devices to ensure they provide accurate and reliable measurements.
    • Perform routine inspections and calibration of equipment to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
    • Assist senior technicians in troubleshooting and repairing faulty control equipment, ensuring minimal disruption to production.
  3. Monitoring and Data Collection:

    • Monitor real-time data from process control systems and production equipment to ensure systems are functioning optimally.
    • Assist in collecting and recording data from automated systems to track performance and detect inefficiencies or anomalies.
    • Support the generation of reports on system performance, equipment status, and any issues encountered during monitoring.
  4. Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution:

    • Provide support in identifying and troubleshooting minor issues related to process control systems, instrumentation, and sensors.
    • Work with senior technicians and engineers to resolve more complex system issues and implement corrective actions.
    • Assist in conducting root cause analysis of process control failures and recommend improvements.
  5. Collaboration and Support:

    • Work closely with senior technicians, engineers, and other departments to optimize control systems and enhance system efficiency.
    • Provide basic technical support to operators and production teams in using process control systems and instrumentation.
    • Participate in team meetings to discuss system performance, challenges, and opportunities for improvements.
  6. Learning and Development:

    • Develop technical skills in process control systems, automation technologies, and industrial equipment through hands-on training and mentorship.
    • Participate in training sessions, workshops, and on-the-job learning to improve knowledge and expertise in process control.
    • Stay updated with new technologies, tools, and best practices related to process control and automation.

  • Process Control Systems Support: Assist in the setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of automated control systems.
  • Instrumentation Maintenance and Calibration: Support the calibration and maintenance of instrumentation and control devices to ensure accurate system readings.

  • Learning and Skill Development: Continuously develop technical expertise in process control systems and automation technologies.

Skills and Knowledge Required:

  • Basic understanding of process control systems, automation, and industrial instrumentation.
  • Familiarity with control systems and instrumentation tools such as sensors, actuators, and control valves.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn quickly in a technical environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate with operators, engineers, and other departments.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies in process control and manufacturing systems.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Basic certifications or coursework in process control, instrumentation, or automation systems is a plus.

Experience:

  • No prior full-time experience required. Internships, academic projects, or training in process control, automation, or instrumentation are beneficial.
  • Exposure to industrial control systems or manufacturing environments through academic coursework or hands-on training is a plus.

Tools and Technologies:

  • Familiarity with process control systems and instrumentation tools such as sensors, pressure gauges, temperature sensors, and control valves.
  • Exposure to process control software or PLC programming software is advantageous.
  • Basic understanding of troubleshooting tools and diagnostic equipment used for process control systems.
