Job Title: Pressure Calibration Engineer

Job Summary:

The Senior Pressure Calibration Engineer is responsible for leading advanced calibration, testing, and maintenance of pressure measurement systems, including high-precision instruments such as transmitters, gauges, and manometers. This role involves managing complex calibration tasks, mentoring junior staff, optimizing workflows, and ensuring strict adherence to international standards and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

Calibration and Testing:

  • Perform and oversee high-level calibration of pressure devices, including pressure transmitters, differential pressure gauges, and high-accuracy manometers.
  • Validate the performance of pressure systems using advanced tools like automated pressure calibrators and deadweight testers.
  • Address and resolve advanced calibration issues, implementing corrective and preventive measures to ensure accuracy.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Review and validate detailed calibration records, including certificates, test data, and compliance reports.
  • Prepare comprehensive calibration reports for audits and provide technical recommendations for process improvements.
  • Develop and update calibration procedures to align with evolving industry standards and organizational needs.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

  • Supervise and conduct preventive maintenance on calibration tools and systems, ensuring their operational reliability.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex issues in pressure instruments and systems with minimal supervision.
  • Lead root cause analysis and implement strategies to prevent recurring issues in calibration workflows.

Compliance and Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure all calibration processes meet or exceed industry standards, including ISO 17025, ISO 9001, and NIST traceability.
  • Act as a technical representative during internal and external audits, addressing compliance and quality concerns.
  • Drive initiatives to improve quality control systems and maintain certification standards.

Leadership and Team Development:

  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior and mid-level engineers, fostering skill development and knowledge transfer.
  • Lead training sessions on advanced calibration techniques and the use of cutting-edge tools and software.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address technical challenges and optimize calibration workflows.

Process Optimization and Innovation:

  • Identify inefficiencies in calibration processes and implement improvements to enhance accuracy and productivity.
  • Stay updated on advancements in pressure calibration technologies and integrate new tools and methodologies into operations.
  • Drive innovation by researching and proposing the adoption of advanced automation and digital calibration solutions.

Skills and Knowledge Required:

  • Advanced knowledge of pressure measurement principles and systems, including high-pressure, low-pressure, and differential pressure applications.
  • Expertise in using advanced calibration tools such as automated pressure calibrators, deadweight testers, and pneumatic or hydraulic systems.
  • Comprehensive understanding of international standards, including ISO 17025, ANSI, and ASTM.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex calibration challenges.
  • Ability to lead and manage large-scale calibration projects with a focus on quality and compliance.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Advanced certifications in calibration, metrology, or quality systems (e.g., ISO 17025 Lead Auditor) are highly desirable.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Water Purification and Treatment Systems Control

  • Leading the design, calibration, and maintenance of advanced pressure instrumentation systems in water purification and treatment facilities to ensure peak performance and efficiency.
  • Environmental and Regulatory Compliance

  • Driving adherence to environmental regulations and industry standards, conducting advanced compliance assessments, and implementing corrective measures.
  • Monitoring of Water Quality (pH, Chlorine Levels, etc.)

  • Overseeing the calibration and optimization of instruments for monitoring critical water quality parameters, ensuring precision, reliability, and compliance with safety standards.
  • Team Leadership and Mentorship

  • Guiding and mentoring junior engineers, ensuring knowledge sharing and fostering a high standard of excellence in calibration practices.

Experience:

  • 7-10 years of experience in pressure calibration, with a proven track record of handling complex systems and projects.
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing calibration teams and mentoring technical staff.

Tools and Equipment:

  • High-precision calibration tools, including automated pressure calibrators, deadweight testers, and digital pressure meters.
  • Proficiency in calibration management software and data logging tools for process monitoring and reporting.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to lead teams and engage with clients and stakeholders.
  • Strong commitment to maintaining safety, quality, and compliance in all calibration operations.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results within tight deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel for on-site calibration projects or technical consultations.
