Job Title: Pressure Calibration Engineer

Job Summary:

The Mid-Level Pressure Calibration Engineer is responsible for independently managing the calibration, testing, and maintenance of pressure measurement devices such as gauges, transmitters, and manometers. This role involves troubleshooting complex calibration issues, optimizing processes, and ensuring compliance with quality and industry standards. The Mid-Level Engineer plays a key role in supporting large-scale projects and mentoring junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

Calibration and Testing:

  • Conduct advanced calibration of pressure instruments, including high-precision pressure transmitters, gauges, and pressure switches.
  • Verify and validate the performance of pressure systems using equipment like deadweight testers, hydraulic calibrators, and pneumatic calibrators.
  • Identify and resolve calibration deviations, ensuring all instruments meet specified accuracy requirements.

Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate and detailed calibration records, logs, and certificates in compliance with ISO 17025 and organizational standards.
  • Prepare calibration reports and provide technical insights to stakeholders for performance improvement.
  • Refine and update calibration procedures to reflect best practices and technological advancements.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

  • Perform preventive maintenance on calibration tools and equipment to ensure reliability and accuracy.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in pressure systems with minimal supervision.
  • Support the integration of new tools and methods into existing calibration workflows.

Compliance and Safety:

  • Ensure all calibration activities comply with industry standards, such as ISO 17025, ISO 9001, and NIST traceability.
  • Adhere to and promote safety protocols during calibration and testing activities.
  • Participate in audits and inspections, addressing non-conformities and implementing corrective actions.

Team Collaboration and Leadership:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on calibration-related projects to meet operational goals.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
  • Lead training sessions to share advanced calibration techniques and tools with the team.

Process Optimization:

  • Evaluate and optimize existing calibration workflows to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Propose and implement process improvements using the latest tools and technologies in pressure calibration.

Skills and Knowledge Required:

  • Strong understanding of pressure measurement principles and devices, including pressure gauges, transmitters, and manometers.
  • Proficiency in using calibration tools like deadweight testers, pneumatic calibrators, and digital pressure meters.
  • Familiarity with quality and calibration standards such as ISO 17025, NIST traceability, and ANSI.
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve issues in pressure measurement systems.
  • Analytical skills to assess data trends and propose improvements in calibration processes.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Instrumentation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Advanced certification in pressure calibration or metrology (e.g., ISO 17025 training) is highly desirable.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Water Purification and Treatment Systems Control

  • Managing the calibration, optimization, and troubleshooting of pressure instruments in water purification and treatment systems to ensure system efficiency.
  • Environmental and Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensuring calibration activities align with environmental regulations and industry standards, and conducting compliance audits.
  • Monitoring of Water Quality (pH, Chlorine Levels, etc.)

  • Overseeing the calibration and performance evaluation of instruments used for monitoring water quality parameters, ensuring precise and reliable measurements.

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience in pressure calibration or related fields.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle complex calibration tasks and independently manage projects.

Tools and Equipment:

  • Deadweight testers, pneumatic and hydraulic calibrators, digital pressure meters, and calibration management software.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with technical teams and stakeholders.
  • Commitment to maintaining safety, quality, and compliance in all calibration operations.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver results under tight deadlines.
