Job Title: Pressure Calibration Engineer

Job Summary:

The Junior Pressure Calibration Engineer is responsible for performing calibration, testing, and maintenance of pressure measurement devices such as pressure gauges, transmitters, and sensors. This role involves executing routine calibration tasks independently, ensuring adherence to industry standards, and supporting troubleshooting and documentation processes. The Junior Engineer contributes to maintaining the accuracy and reliability of pressure systems within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Calibration and Testing:

  • Perform routine calibration of pressure devices, including pressure gauges, transmitters, manometers, and pressure switches.
  • Verify the performance of pressure instruments using calibration tools like deadweight testers and pneumatic or hydraulic calibrators.
  • Identify and resolve minor calibration issues, ensuring accuracy and compliance with organizational standards.

Documentation:

  • Maintain detailed calibration logs, including test data, results, and observations.
  • Generate calibration certificates and reports as per ISO 17025 and other applicable standards.
  • Ensure documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and readily available for audits or inspections.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

  • Conduct preventive maintenance on calibration equipment such as pressure calibrators and deadweight testers.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues in pressure measurement systems.

Compliance and Safety:

  • Ensure all calibration activities comply with relevant quality standards, such as ISO 17025 and ISO 9001.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and organizational guidelines during calibration and testing activities.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work collaboratively with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to address technical challenges.
  • Participate in team discussions to contribute to the improvement of calibration processes.

Skills and Knowledge Required:

  • Solid understanding of pressure measurement principles and devices, including gauges, transmitters, and manometers.
  • Proficiency in using calibration equipment such as deadweight testers, pneumatic calibrators, and handheld pressure devices.
  • Familiarity with calibration standards and procedures, such as ISO 17025.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills to address routine issues in pressure measurement systems.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality calibration results.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Instrumentation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Certification in pressure calibration or metrology is an advantage.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Water Purification and Treatment Systems Control

  • Performing calibration and maintenance of pressure instruments in water purification and treatment systems to ensure accurate operation.
  • Environmental and Regulatory Compliance

  • Assisting in implementing and ensuring adherence to environmental regulations and standards related to pressure calibration.
  • Monitoring of Water Quality (pH, Chlorine Levels, etc.)

  • Conducting calibration tasks for instruments monitoring water quality parameters like pH and chlorine levels, ensuring compliance with quality standards.

Experience:

  • 1-3 years of experience in pressure calibration or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with calibration tools and pressure measurement devices is required.

Tools and Equipment:

  • Deadweight testers, pneumatic and hydraulic calibrators, manometers, and handheld pressure calibrators.
  • Familiarity with calibration management software for documentation and scheduling.
