The Senior Powertrain Integration Engineer leads the complete integration of internal combustion engine (ICE), hybrid, or electric powertrain systems into the vehicle platform. This role ensures full system-level compatibility and optimization of performance, packaging, NVH, safety, thermal management, and manufacturability. The senior engineer provides technical leadership in concept development, cross-functional coordination, issue resolution, and mentoring junior team members throughout the product development lifecycle.
Lead powertrain system packaging and integration from concept through production.
Define and manage key technical requirements and interface specifications across systems.
Drive trade-off studies between performance, packaging, weight, cost, and serviceability.
Collaborate with design, CAE, thermal, chassis, and electrical teams to ensure robust integration.
Lead resolution of complex integration issues discovered during design, prototyping, and testing phases.
Review and approve 3D models, system layouts, interface drawings, and installation procedures.
Support development of DFMEAs, DVP&Rs, and validation plans.
Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and coordinate supplier technical deliverables.
