Job Title: Power Plant Operator
Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly motivated Power Plant Operator – Fresher to join our team. As a fresher, you will receive training and hands-on experience in the operation and maintenance of various systems within a power plant. This is an entry-level position for individuals interested in building a career in power generation. You will assist senior operators in monitoring plant systems, ensuring safe and efficient operations, and supporting the plant’s overall performance. The role provides excellent growth opportunities, as you will gain valuable knowledge in power plant operations, equipment maintenance, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in Power Plant Operations:
- Support senior operators in monitoring and controlling power plant systems, including boilers, turbines, generators, and electrical systems.
- Learn to adjust system parameters such as pressure, temperature, and flow rates to ensure optimal performance.
- Assist in starting up, operating, and shutting down plant equipment under supervision, ensuring that all operations comply with established safety standards.
Monitor Plant Equipment:
- Observe plant equipment and systems, including control panels, gauges, and alarms, to detect any issues or malfunctions.
- Assist in troubleshooting minor issues and ensuring that equipment is functioning correctly.
- Learn to identify early signs of potential equipment failure and report issues to senior operators for further action.
Preventive Maintenance Support:
- Assist in performing routine inspections and preventive maintenance on power plant equipment, such as turbines, generators, and auxiliary systems.
- Learn and assist with basic maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing parts to ensure equipment reliability and efficiency.
- Support the maintenance team in identifying any required repairs or parts replacements.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety regulations and plant-specific procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
- Participate in safety drills, inspections, and training programs to ensure that all safety protocols are followed.
- Report any safety hazards or incidents to the senior team for immediate action and resolution.
Record Keeping and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of operational activities, equipment status, maintenance tasks, and any incidents or irregularities.
- Assist in documenting performance data and ensuring that logs are properly maintained for operational and compliance purposes.
- Learn how to prepare reports related to plant operations, including system performance and operational issues.
Learning and Skill Development:
- Participate in on-the-job training sessions to gain knowledge of power plant operations, equipment, and safety practices.
- Gain exposure to plant systems and technologies, and gradually take on more responsibilities as you become more familiar with plant operations.
- Work closely with senior operators and other departments to learn best practices and refine your skills.

Qualifications and Skills:
Educational Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Power Plant Technology, or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systems is beneficial.
Experience:
- No prior professional experience required; this is an entry-level role designed for recent graduates or individuals with limited work experience in power plant operations.
- Any internships, academic projects, or hands-on training related to power plant operations or mechanical/electrical systems is a plus.
Skills:
- Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, with a willingness to learn.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to observe systems and equipment accurately.
- Good communication skills to work with team members and report any issues or concerns.
- Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures precisely.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to learning.
Certifications (Preferred):
- Any safety certifications such as OSHA or First Aid/CPR are a plus.
- Certification or training in power plant operations or electrical/mechanical systems is a benefit.
