Roles & Responsibilities

Job Role 

Engaged on a per-job or project basis to provide pool maintenance and repair services for residential, commercial, and hotel pools. Responsibilities include water testing, cleaning, chemical balancing, troubleshooting pool equipment, and ensuring that pools are in excellent operating condition and meet all health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pool Maintenance:

    • Clean and maintain pools, including vacuuming, brushing tiles and walls, and clearing debris from skimmers, filters, and pumps.

    • Empty, clean, and replace pool filters and cartridges regularly.

    • Maintain the proper functioning of pool equipment, such as pumps, heaters, and chlorinators.

    • Perform regular inspections of pool pumps, motors, and other mechanical components to identify any potential issues or malfunctions.

  • Water Testing & Chemical Balancing:

    • Test water quality regularly, including pH, alkalinity, calcium hardness, and chlorine levels.

    • Add chemicals (e.g., chlorine, algaecide, pH adjusters) to the pool water to maintain the correct chemical balance and ensure the water is safe and clear.

    • Follow safe handling procedures for chemicals and ensure proper storage.

    • Advise clients on water quality issues and make recommendations for adjustments as needed.

  • Pool Equipment Troubleshooting & Repair:

    • Diagnose and repair common pool equipment issues, including pumps, filters, heaters, automatic pool cleaners, and lighting.

    • Perform troubleshooting and maintenance of pool control systems, timers, and electrical connections.

    • Replace or repair damaged or worn-out parts of the pool system as required.

  • Customer Communication & Support:

    • Communicate clearly with clients to understand their needs and address any concerns regarding pool maintenance or equipment issues.

    • Provide customers with information on the best practices for maintaining pool water quality and the longevity of pool equipment.

    • Provide clients with service reports, including any repairs or adjustments made, and recommend any necessary future treatments or equipment replacements.

  • Documentation & Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate records of each visit, including services performed, chemicals used, equipment maintenance, and any repairs or replacements.

    • Submit detailed reports to the client or supervisor and update CRM systems with photos, readings, and notes.

  • HSE & Compliance:

    • Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols when handling pool chemicals, cleaning equipment, and pool machinery.

    • Maintain a clean and organized work environment at all times.

    • Follow the manufacturer's recommendations for all pool equipment maintenance and repair.

Minimum Requirements

  • 3–5 years hands-on pool maintenance experience (UAE/GCC preferred).

  • In-depth knowledge of pool chemistry, equipment, and troubleshooting methods.

  • Experience working with various pool types (residential, commercial, hotel, etc.), including above-ground and in-ground pools.

  • Ability to diagnose and repair common pool equipment issues, including pumps, filters, heaters, and cleaners.

  • Basic English for communication and documentation (Arabic/Hindi/Urdu a plus).

  • Smartphone for CRM, navigation, and photo documentation.

  • Valid UAE driving license preferred; willingness to travel between sites.

Education & Certifications

  • ITI/Trade Certificate or Diploma in Pool Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (preferred).

  • Certifications in Pool Maintenance or Water Quality Management are an advantage.

  • First Aid and HSE Awareness certifications are a plus.
