The Senior Piping Fabrication Supervisor is responsible for the full oversight of piping fabrication operations for water and wastewater treatment systems, ensuring adherence to industry standards such as AWWA, ASME B31.1/B31.3, and ANSI. This leadership role involves planning, resource allocation, compliance enforcement, and performance management across multiple teams and complex piping projects. The position requires technical expertise, strong organizational skills, and the ability to lead high-performing crews in a high-specification fabrication environment.
Lead and coordinate day-to-day operations across piping fabrication bays and/or field prefabrication areas.
Serve as the senior point of contact between engineering, QA/QC, project management, and the shop floor.
Develop fabrication strategies for large-scale projects including modular skids, pipe racks, and process loops.
Forecast manpower, equipment, and material needs to meet production schedules and customer deadlines.
Ensure piping systems are fabricated to AWWA (e.g., C200, C606), ASME B31.1/B31.3, and ANSI standards.
Review and approve weld maps, WPS, and fit-up procedures in collaboration with QA/QC and engineering.
Oversee NDE coordination, hydrotesting, and quality documentation for pressure-rated systems.
Resolve advanced technical issues such as material incompatibility, high-pressure configurations, and multi-process weld sequencing.
Supervise and mentor pipefitters, welders, helpers, and junior supervisors.
Lead performance evaluations, enforce productivity KPIs, and ensure training alignment with shop needs.
Promote a high-performance culture focused on safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Enforce safety policies for cutting, welding, grinding, and lifting operations.
Ensure strict compliance with OSHA, LOTO, confined space, and hot work standards.
Conduct root cause analysis of safety or quality incidents and implement corrective actions.
