We are looking for a talented Piping Design Engineer – Junior Level to join our engineering team. In this role, you will assist with the design, drafting, and layout of piping systems for industrial and commercial projects. As a junior engineer, you will work under the guidance of senior engineers, gaining hands-on experience and building your technical skills in piping design. You will be involved in creating technical drawings, reviewing specifications, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and helping to optimize piping system performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Piping System Design and Drafting:

    • Assist in designing piping systems and layouts for projects, ensuring all systems comply with project specifications and industry standards.
    • Use CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or similar) to draft and modify piping layouts, creating detailed drawings and 3D models.
    • Help in developing design documents for piping systems, including material specifications, flow calculations, and system integration.
  2. Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams:

    • Work closely with mechanical, structural, and electrical engineers to integrate piping designs into overall system layouts.
    • Coordinate with the procurement and construction teams to ensure the design is practical, feasible, and implementable.
    • Assist in coordinating design reviews and changes, ensuring the project stays on track and meets client requirements.
  3. Code and Standard Compliance:

    • Ensure that all piping designs meet relevant codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., ASME, API, ASTM, etc.).
    • Assist in performing design calculations and pressure testing to verify that the piping systems comply with safety and operational requirements.
    • Help ensure that all designs account for environmental, safety, and efficiency considerations.
  4. Review and Analyze Design Data:

    • Assist in reviewing project specifications, drawings, and other documents to ensure accuracy and consistency.
    • Analyze data and design information to optimize material selection, layout, and system efficiency.
    • Review and help resolve design discrepancies or potential issues in piping systems.
  5. Documentation and Reporting:

    • Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation for all piping design work, including drawings, change orders, and approvals.
    • Prepare and submit reports on project status, design progress, and any issues that may affect project timelines or deliverables.
    • Help track project milestones and assist in meeting deadlines to ensure timely project completion.
  6. Learning and Skill Development:

    • Participate in training and development activities to enhance your technical skills in piping design, drafting, and engineering best practices.
    • Gain hands-on experience in using industry-standard design software, performing design calculations, and applying relevant engineering principles.
    • Continuously improve knowledge of piping materials, installation methods, and system operation to contribute more effectively to the team.

Key Focus Areas:

  1. Piping Design and Drafting:

    • Assist with designing and drafting piping layouts and systems, ensuring they are functional and compliant with industry standards.
  2. Collaboration with Engineering Teams:

    • Work closely with other engineering disciplines to ensure that piping systems are integrated effectively into larger system designs.
  3. Compliance with Standards and Codes:

    • Ensure that all designs comply with safety, environmental, and industry standards and regulations.
  4. Learning and Skill Development:

    • Focus on developing technical skills in piping design, drafting, and system integration through continuous learning and mentorship.

Qualifications and Skills:

  1. Educational Requirements:

    • A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
    • Knowledge of piping design and engineering principles is beneficial, but not required.
  2. Experience:

    • 1-2 years prior professional experience required; this is an entry-level position for recent graduates or individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in piping design.
    • Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar) is preferred but not mandatory.
    • Any academic projects, internships, or coursework related to piping systems or mechanical engineering is a plus.
  3. Skills:

    • Basic understanding of mechanical systems, particularly piping systems, and how they are integrated into larger engineering projects.
    • Strong proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, or other relevant software).
    • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow specifications and standards accurately.
    • Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with senior engineers and other team members.
    • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new challenges.
