Job Title: Piping Design Engineer
Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated Piping Design Engineer – Fresher to join our engineering team. This is an entry-level position ideal for recent graduates who are eager to start their careers in the design and engineering of piping systems. As a fresher, you will receive on-the-job training and gain hands-on experience in designing piping layouts, reviewing specifications, and ensuring that the designs meet project requirements and industry standards. You will work closely with senior engineers to develop your technical skills and grow within the field of piping design.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with Piping System Design:
- Learn and assist in designing piping systems for industrial and commercial applications, ensuring they meet project specifications, codes, and industry standards.
- Use design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or Piping Design Software (e.g., SmartPlant, PDMS) to create and modify piping layouts, schematics, and detailed drawings.
- Work on developing 3D models for piping systems and create design layouts for new construction, as well as modifications to existing systems.
Coordinate with Cross-Functional Teams:
- Collaborate with other engineering teams, including mechanical, structural, and electrical engineers, to integrate piping designs into larger systems.
- Assist in coordinating with procurement and construction teams to ensure designs are feasible and can be implemented efficiently.
- Communicate with project managers to ensure designs meet project timelines and requirements.
Ensure Compliance with Standards and Regulations:
- Assist in reviewing design specifications and ensuring they comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations such as ASME, API, and ASTM.
- Ensure that all piping designs meet safety standards, functionality, and environmental requirements.
- Assist in performing design calculations to verify the strength and integrity of the piping system.
Document and Maintain Design Records:
- Keep accurate records of all design documents, drawings, specifications, and change orders related to piping systems.
- Assist in the preparation of technical documentation and reports for submission to clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
- Ensure proper documentation of design decisions, calculations, and assumptions used during the design process.
Review and Analyze Design Data:
- Support senior engineers in reviewing design data, such as material specifications, pressure testing results, and flow calculations, to ensure the system operates as intended.
- Assist in identifying design discrepancies and propose solutions to improve performance, efficiency, and safety.
Learning and Skill Development:
- Participate in training programs and on-the-job learning to develop proficiency in piping design principles, software tools, and industry standards.
- Stay updated with the latest developments in piping design, construction practices, and industry regulations.
- Seek feedback from senior engineers to enhance skills and understanding of piping system design.

Qualifications and Skills:
Educational Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of piping systems and engineering principles is beneficial but not required.
Experience:
- No prior professional experience required. This position is ideal for recent graduates or individuals with internships, projects, or academic training in piping design or mechanical engineering.
- Experience or coursework related to AutoCAD, Revit, or other piping design tools is a plus.
Skills:
- Strong interest in mechanical and piping systems design.
- Good understanding of engineering drawing and drafting principles.
- Basic knowledge of material selection, stress analysis, and design calculations is beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow design guidelines and standards.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with other engineering teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to learn new tools and software quickly.
Certifications (Preferred):
- Any certification related to AutoCAD, Piping Design, or mechanical engineering is a plus.
- Familiarity with industry standards and codes such as ASME, API, and ASTM is beneficial.
