Job Title: Pipeline Control Systems Engineer
Job Summary:
The Senior Pipeline Control Systems Engineer is responsible for leading the design, maintenance, and optimization of control systems for pipeline operations. This role involves overseeing SCADA and Distributed Control Systems (DCS), ensuring the reliability of safety-critical systems, and managing large-scale projects. The Senior Engineer provides technical leadership, contributes to strategic decision-making, and ensures compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
System Oversight and Optimization:
- Lead the maintenance and optimization of pipeline control systems, including SCADA and DCS platforms.
- Design and implement advanced process control strategies to enhance pipeline efficiency and reliability.
- Conduct system performance analysis and implement improvements to reduce downtime and operational risks.
Troubleshooting and Diagnostics:
- Diagnose and resolve critical issues in control systems using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques.
- Perform root cause analysis for recurring problems and develop long-term corrective action plans.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors to address high-level technical challenges.
System Integration and Upgrades:
- Oversee the integration and commissioning of new control devices and ensure seamless compatibility with existing systems.
- Manage system upgrades and retrofits, validating them against operational and safety requirements.
- Lead the adoption of new technologies, including predictive maintenance tools and process automation.
Safety and Emergency Systems:
- Ensure the functionality and reliability of safety-critical systems, including emergency shutdown mechanisms and alarms.

Project Management:
- Plan and execute large-scale projects, including installations, upgrades, and retrofits of control systems.

Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, maintenance activities, and calibration data.

Leadership and Mentorship:
- Provide technical leadership to a team of engineers and technicians, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing.

- Lead training programs to ensure team readiness for emerging technologies and practices.

Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related technical field.
- Advanced certifications in SCADA systems, process automation, or safety instrumentation are highly desirable.
Experience:
- 7-10 years of experience in pipeline control systems, SCADA/DCS monitoring, or similar roles.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale projects and resolving complex technical challenges.
Tools and Technologies:
- Expertise in advanced diagnostic tools such as oscilloscopes, thermal cameras, and vibration analyzers.
- Proficiency in SCADA platforms like Siemens WinCC, ABB, or Honeywell Experion.
- Familiarity with predictive maintenance tools and advanced analytics for performance monitoring.
