Job Title: Pipeline Control Systems Engineer
Job Summary:
The Pipeline Control Systems Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of pipeline control systems, including SCADA and Distributed Control Systems (DCS), across multiple operations. This role involves managing a team of engineers and technicians, ensuring the reliability of safety-critical systems, and aligning control system performance with organizational objectives. The Manager leads large-scale projects, drives innovation, and ensures compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Team Management:
- Manage and mentor a team of engineers and technicians, fostering professional development and high performance.
- Define roles, allocate resources, and set objectives to align team efforts with organizational goals.
- Conduct performance reviews and implement training programs to enhance technical skills.
System Oversight and Optimization:
- Oversee the design, maintenance, and optimization of SCADA/DCS systems for pipeline operations.
- Ensure seamless integration of control systems with pipeline infrastructure to enhance operational efficiency.
- Develop and implement strategies for predictive maintenance and system reliability.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure all control systems adhere to safety protocols, environmental regulations, and industry standards.
- Conduct risk assessments and oversee the implementation of safety measures for pipeline operations.
- Validate the performance of safety-critical systems, including emergency shutdown mechanisms and alarms.
Project Management:
- Plan and execute large-scale projects, such as system upgrades, retrofits, and new installations.
- Develop project budgets, timelines, and resource plans to ensure successful project delivery.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align project objectives with organizational priorities.
Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, vendors, and regulatory bodies regarding pipeline control systems.
- Prepare and present detailed reports on system performance, project progress, and compliance metrics to senior leadership.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and implement improvements.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated on advancements in control system technologies and recommend innovative solutions to improve efficiency.
- Drive the adoption of advanced tools, such as data analytics and machine learning, for predictive maintenance and system optimization.

Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related technical field.
- Certifications in SCADA systems, process automation, or project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) are highly desirable.
Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in pipeline control systems, SCADA/DCS monitoring, or similar roles.
- At least 3-5 years in a managerial role, overseeing teams and managing large-scale projects.
Tools and Technologies:
- Proficiency in SCADA platforms such as Siemens WinCC, ABB, or Honeywell Experion.
- Expertise in advanced diagnostic tools like oscilloscopes, thermal cameras, and vibration analyzers.
- Familiarity with predictive maintenance technologies and advanced analytics tools.
