Job Title: Pipeline Control Systems Engineer
Job Summary:
The Pipeline Control Systems Engineer is responsible for assisting in the design, implementation, and maintenance of control systems for pipeline operations. This role involves learning to monitor and optimize SCADA systems, ensuring the reliability of safety-critical controls, and gaining knowledge of industry regulations. Under the supervision of senior engineers, the fresher will support operational efficiency and safety in pipeline management.
Key Responsibilities:
Control Systems Support:
- Assist in the configuration and maintenance of SCADA systems for real-time pipeline monitoring and control.
- Learn to manage and operate control devices such as flow meters, pressure regulators, and valves.
- Support system testing to ensure proper functionality and adherence to design specifications.
Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
- Monitor pipeline parameters such as flow, pressure, and temperature using SCADA systems.
- Identify and report anomalies or alarms to senior engineers for resolution.
- Assist in diagnosing basic system issues under supervision and document findings.
Safety and Emergency Systems:
- Support the testing and maintenance of safety-critical systems, including emergency shutdown and alarm systems.
- Participate in safety drills and training sessions to understand protocols and compliance requirements.
- Follow organizational safety standards in all activities.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Assist in collecting and analyzing operational data to identify trends and potential areas for improvement.
- Maintain logs of system performance and troubleshooting activities.
- Prepare basic reports for review by senior engineers.
Learning and Development:
- Gain familiarity with pipeline control systems, SCADA architecture, and industrial automation protocols (e.g., Modbus, HART).
- Attend training sessions and workshops to build technical expertise.
- Develop an understanding of industry standards, including API, ANSI, and safety regulations.

Educational Qualifications:

- Basic training or certifications in SCADA systems or industrial automation is advantageous but not mandatory.
Experience:
- No prior experience required; internships or academic projects related to pipeline control systems are beneficial.
Tools and Technologies:
- Exposure to diagnostic tools such as multimeters and basic signal generators.
- Familiarity with SCADA platforms like Siemens WinCC, Honeywell Experion, or ABB is advantageous.
- Basic understanding of communication protocols such as Modbus, HART, and Profibus.
