The Junior Panel Technician (PLC/MCC) is responsible for assisting in the wiring, installation, testing, and maintenance of PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) and MCC (Motor Control Center) panels. This role provides foundational exposure to electrical control systems, industrial automation, and field wiring practices under supervision.
Assist in the assembly and wiring of PLC and MCC panels based on layout diagrams and electrical schematics.
Support the connection of input/output modules, relays, terminal blocks, circuit breakers, and communication devices.
Help conduct continuity checks, insulation resistance tests, and basic power-up tests.
Learn to interpret panel layout drawings, wiring diagrams, and cable schedules.
Support field installation of control panels and connect them to instrumentation and power sources.
Assist in identifying wiring faults, loose connections, or component failures under senior guidance.
Maintain tools, workshop cleanliness, and adhere to safety standards during all electrical work.
Participate in toolbox talks and technical training sessions on safe electrical practices and panel building techniques.
Help record panel test results and maintain installation logs.
ITI / Technical Certificate in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Electronics
0–2 years of experience in electrical panel assembly or field wiring (internship/training acceptable)
Basic understanding of industrial control systems, PLCs, and MCC operations
Familiarity with hand tools, crimping tools, multimeters, and basic electrical safety
Willingness to work under supervision in workshop and field environments
Strong attention to detail in electrical assembly work
Good manual dexterity and understanding of safe work practices
Willingness to learn electrical schematics and panel layout reading
Team-oriented with clear communication and task reporting
